The 232-ATSC 4K HDTV Tuner is the 5th-generation ATSC HDTV tuner from Contemporary Research. New features include the capability to tune H.264 programs up to 1080p60, scale outputs up to UHD 4K, and output IPTV streaming via an Ethernet port. The 232-ATSC 4K is a commercial grade tuner supporting analog and digital MPEG-2/H.264 channels in ATSC, NTSC, and clear QAM formats. Using an optional RF-AB switch, it's capable of switching between antenna and cable feeds. It's also fully compatible with the control commands and operation of previous tuner models, and it has the same 1 RU rack height (two units fit in one rack space).

The ATSC 3.0 Wiki says this: support for newer technologies, including HEVC for video channels of up to 2160p 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, wide color gamut, high dynamic range, Dolby AC-4 and MPEG-H 3D Audio, datacasting capabilities, and more robust mobile television support. It sounds like this tuner will not support real 2160p. Is this true?
This product offers output scaling up to 4K through HDMI. However it is only inputting a signal up to 1080p HD. It does not input a 4K signal, it only scales the signal up to 4K for output.

Does it come with an IR remote for channel up/down?
The Contemporary Research 232-ATSC 4K HDTV Tuner (B&H# CO232ATSC4K) does not come with an IR remote for changing the channel, nor with a receiver for receiving the IR signal. Therefore, you will want the Contemporary Research IR-RXC External IR Receiver (B&H# COIRRXC, https://bhpho.to/3XkztiB) and the Contemporary Research HD2-RC Wireless IR Remote for Select AV and HDTV Tuners (B&H# COHD2RC, https://bhpho.to/3IHx4tz).
