The 1.3 lb Gitzo 2-Way Fluid Head is ideal for bird photography, digiscoping, and video, and because of its built-in fluid cartridges, it provides a very smooth 360° pan and lateral tilt of -60°/+90°. The spring-loaded counter balance system maintains balance with a fixed drag, but tension can be dialed-in for more resistance. The head can support cameras and spotting scopes that weight up to 13.2 lb, and each axis locks down with its own independent locking knob. The 2.2" tall head is Arca-type compatible, and it includes a rubberized quick release plate with a standard 1/4"-20 male thread and a removable panning bar.

Gitzo GH Series Video Head Reviews
SECURE and STABLE scope head. Lightweight and strong as an OX.
I purchased a 95mm lens for my ATX Swarovski scope and decided to replace my current scope head used for my 65mm lens to the next larger size due to the 95mm being heavier and purchased this Gitzo 2-way fluid head and so happy I did! I really like the larger plate stabilizing the heavier weight without being massive, the two adjustments wheels streamline set up FAST viewing out in the field. Hands down it’s now my favorite scope head to date.
Smooth head for panning across bird flock with a scope
My old Gitzo 2-way Fluid Head failed this year. After researching alternatives, I decided to replace this with the same head. The combination of low profile adjustment knobs, and smooth action makes this the best head for my use, primarily with a scope, in the field.
