For the low-profile magnet mounting, what's the recommended screw/bolt to use when mounting the camera or tripod to the plate?
The ProAm USA Modus Camera Mounting System with Case's main mounting point at the center of the plate is designed with the intent that a fluid head be mounted to it. For this reason the ProAm USA Modus Camera Mounting System with Case's central mounting point uses the standard 3/8"-16 thread commonly used for mounting fluid heads. Since most cameras have 1/4"-20 thread instead of a 3/8"-16, should you wish to mount a camera to the plate, you will need a 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 bushing, such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing (BH #OB1039).

Can magnets from another manufacturer be used with ProAM plate?
The ProAm USA Modus Camera Mounting System with Case is intended to be used with the included magnets; however, if you have magnets from another manufacturer that can be attached to the 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threads on the Modus plate, they can certainly be used.
