Visionsmith VS-FRKD Overview

A clever, fast, and seamless solution for conversion from legacy halogen fixtures to their LED counterparts, the daylight-balanced ReLamp 650 LED for ARRI 650 Plus Fresnel from Visionsmith brings you all of the benefits of a retro-fit and none of the hassles - in fact it's not even a retrofit, it's a simple lamp swap! The ReLamp 650 fits into the very same GY9.5 2-Pin Prefocus base that halogens do and outputs the same power that halogens do while consuming just 80W of electricity, eliminating heat that might make the talent uncomfortable, and high air-conditioning costs to cool the studio. Typically, the ReLamp 650 will save you 80% of air-conditioning and running costs with an ROI of mere months.

Re-lamping is seamless, challenging you to differentiate between the halogen and LED fixtures. And the accuracy and precision of color rendering is indisputable as evidenced by the ReLamp's CRI/TLCI ratings of 94/95. Ready for worldwide use, the ReLamp 650 runs on 90 to 250 VAC voltage and can be dimmed from 0 to 100%.

The LED Fresnel Solution
  • Very accurate color rendering - matches daylight lamp without correction
  • Less than half the cost of any comparable LED Fresnel solution
  • Brighter: 75W LED is brighter than a 650W halogen
  • Full-range dimming on your existing AC dimmers - without color shift
  • Flicker-free at any frame rate
  • Safe: no burns, no gloves, no fire hazard, does not explode like Halogen
  • No heat on subject or talent
  • Green: the easiest way to make your business sustainable
  • Plays Well with Others
Can you tell which is the halogen and which is the LED? The color is just what you hoped for: it gels correctly, blends with your existing fixtures, and projects an impressive light field.
    No Heat on Your Subject
Visionsmith ReLamps run barely warm to the touch.
Fast ROI: Your Studio Can Save 80% Off the Power Bill with ReLamp LEDs
ReLamp LEDs are eight times more efficient than halogen at putting light on the target. Additionally, there's no heat, while a halogen grid is like a grid of industrial space-heaters, compensated by heavy-duty air conditioning. If you're running lights for 12 hours a day, the numbers add up fast.
    Big Benefits
ReLamp LEDs experience no color-shift with dimming, so fussing with scrims is a thing of the past.
  • AC dimming
  • Smart cooling
  • Rugged construction
  • A Fit For Each Fixture
This isn't anything like an LED retrofit, it's just a bulb swap.
Get 4x More for Your Budget
Upgrading to LED is no longer a process of throwing out all your old favorite lights, and rewiring to support the new expensive LEDs. You can literally just upgrade from a halogen lamp to a ReLamp LED. It's much faster. There is no rewiring at all. It costs four times less in most cases. You still get all the benefits of LEDs.
    Reliability Guaranteed
ReLamp products are backed by a full two-year replacement warranty, an optional extended warranty, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

    Works great!

The Visionsmith ReLamp works great! Seems to have more output than the 650 tungsten bulb, the flood and spot work well so that you can make patterns with barndoors, and it's easy to install. Only wish is that it was more reasonably priced.

    Had to retrofit to use

I installed this in my old airy 650 light. In order to do this you will have to remove the reflector then break off part of the aluminum bracket your quartz lamp is plugged into and also move the ground wire. It is not a quick plug and play change out at all. And if your not handy you won’t be happy. The light works and hopefully for a long time. I now have a daylight arri 650 that looks great.

What does the switch on the front do? With the S and L?
    Asked by: Max
The L/S switch on the Visionsmith ReLamp 650 LED for ARRI 650 Plus Fresnel (Daylight) is used for animation videos. S keeps the light at a more constant color. The manufacturer says unless you are shooting animation (stop motion), it is best to leave it on L.

Why is this daylight bulb rated at 5000k? For this price you would think they would actually produce a 5500/5600 kelvin product.
    Asked by: Sam
Hi Sam, Visionsmith ReLamp went with the 5000k standard because their test showed that it produce more pleasing skin tones (as it is a little warmer) than 5500/5600K.
