FUJIFILM Square SQ6 Reviews

Switched from Polaroid 600

I've had a Polaroid 600 for years, but the new film doesn't work as well and the colors aren't saturated enough. This camera is easy to use and I like the square format. You have to stand fairly close to subject or photo will be out of focus.

Great camera + photo size/coloring

I love this little camera. The square film falls perfectly between the smaller, popular Fujifilm Instax camera photos and the Original Polaroid size. Photos consistently come out beautiful, too -- colors are rich and, given ideal lighting conditions, details are crisp and in focus while also having that pleasantly soft Polaroid quality to them. Overall, I love this camera and would recommend it to camera connoisseurs and amateurs alike.

Great instant film camera.

Bought this after I returned a Polaroid camera. Camera is definitely much better regarding reliability and photo accuracy of each shots. The instant film that Fujifilm uses is also much more reliable and filmlike compared to Polaroid's. Polaroid's film stocks tends to be really retro, to a laughable amount. Fujifilm's instax film tends to be more of what was shot in the 90's and early 2000s. Colors and skintones look amazing. If you want an instant camera, this one is a great all arounder. If there is a couple of things Fujifilm can improve on is: make your square frames bigger. Fujifilm instax wide is longer but not as tall as polaroid. I think this would be the go to if Fujifilm made frames as large or slightly bigger than Polaroid's. Also it would be great to have two lens options. Polaroid's camera now has that. Last thing is ability to connect to your phone and have some creative control. This is something Polaroid has done, and Fujifilm has to get on that train. If you are debating on buying this or Polaroid, buy this.

Great zone-focusing camera.

This is a very good camera, given that it is an inexpensive zone-focusing camera. It does struggle a bit with over-exposure in bright sunlight, and the lack of a filter ring (for ND filter) makes that a bigger issue than it may have been. I glued a 37mm filter ring on the front of the lens, so that I can use an ND filter when out in bright sun. The lens is plenty sharp enough for the medium (62x62mm instax). See photos for examples. The small maximum aperture (f/8) means that zone focusing is not difficult. You basically have one setting for 1-2m, and another for 2m to infinity. There is also a macro setting (20-50cm), but that is harder to gauge in actual use. The selfie-mode uses the macro focusing distance. I am not sure if it alters the exposure at all, but fill-flash works well there. Overall, I really like this camera. I wish I had more manual controls, but between this and, say, a Diana, I'd take this one without hesitation.

I love this thing. It's easy to carry and the photos are beautiful. I also really like the square film a lot better than the mini film.

Camera works beautifully

I love this camera. I bought this camera because the film is cheaper than the Polaroid I-Type or 600-Series film, and wanted to take instant print photos more often. There are several settings on it, and I don't have to manually open anything on the camera in order to attempt a double-exposure. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who wants to get into instant print photography.

Worth the price

Beautiful design, unique pictures, but resolution isn't the best. Good enough for the fridge! I recommend watching bunch of review and unboxing videos before buying/taking pictures.
