Expert Shield X002CIMCVT Reviews
Extra smudge resistant
This is an excellent screen protector. I’ve never installed a screen protector on anything before, so I watched the video on how to install one from Expert Shield. It was really easy to install without bubbles. It fits on the rear display of the Fujifilm X-T3 perfectly. The best part is that I feel like it’s a little more smudge/finger print resistant than the Fujifilm X-T3 screen.
Using screen protectors since years on all my digital cameras, phones and tablets I dare to state that I have at least some experience reg. such products. On November 21st I purchased two of these screen protectors for my new Fuji X-T3 camera. I got two protectors because based on my experience sometimes you can screw up the assembly, not an issue for me in general. To make a long story short, I failed to assemble both of the protectors properly, but in this case my observations point clearly to a bad product, either bad samples or a general design issue, not an assembly problem. I carefully followed the assembly instruction, which in general really works. Both screen protectors showed the same problem after assembly, means an area of approx. 3-5 mm at the outside borders of the projectors did not stick to the camera screen at all (see image). The first protector also showed a large air bubble (approx. 8-10 mm diameter) in the center of the protector. I could neither get out the air bubble nor get the outside borders of the protector stick to the screen, no matter what I tried following the instructions. My assumption: The protectors are just not evenly flat to enable a proper assembly! Yes, theoretically it could also be that the screen of my X-T3 is not flat, but as a person that dares to state that he has some technical background I would dismiss most likely that potential root cause. The fact that the protectors are also a little smaller than the X-T3 screen, approx. 0.6 to 0.8 mm as well in length as in height, was in here a really minor nuisance that could have been overcome easily and would not have really affected the usability of the product. Maybe I just received a dud, what would point to some problems in the manufacturing process, maybe it´s a general design flaw, I don´t know. The only thing I know is that I wasted at least USD 20.00 and I definitely cannot recommend this product. By the way, I also contacted Expert Shield yesterday but have not received any response until now. Let´s see if I will receive a response at all. Overall a quite disappointing and frustrating experience with this product!
