Benro Adventure Tripod with HD2A Pan and Tilt... Reviews

One minor thing would make this tripod perfect!

Great tripod, its robust, and the flip locks are great and very firm, easy to collapse, and the height is perfect as I am over 6 feet tall so having a 65-inch height is wonderful. It's also heavier and I like the weight as sometimes I photograph in some pretty stiff winds and this one, I'm sure will have less movement and vibration! The HD2A pan and tilt head is well built, the pan release knob and quick release are very nice, however, the one issue and maybe someone will address at Benro is the orientation of the quick release plate. It really needs to be rotated 90 degrees on the tilt axis so it aligns lengthwise with the front to back axis, this would be so much better for using large lenses because now I have to use the tilt axis in reverse to get elevation when using my Nikon 200mm or 400mm with the larger Benro quick release plates. Fix this and its more than a 5-star tripod!

Ticked all the boxes

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves it! He wanted one tall enough he doesn't have to bend over, with flip legs, and a 3 way pan head. The fact this head is arca swiss compatible is even better! It is rock solid. It comes with a few tools, and a clip on the leg that looks like it should hold the allen wrenches, but I couldn't get them in it. It has both spikes and rubber feet, but you have to switch them out. A better solution would be the rubber spins down over the spike. My opinion.

Tripod better than head

The tripod is really excellent - convenient and very stable. The head has a lower maximum load rating though (17 vs 26 ibs), and is not very easy to use - moves are restricted - but I am used to ball heads.

Nice and sturdy little tripod

I like this a lot and it is a good traveler tripod. I took off one star because of the drawback in design: The handles are too long. If they had used shorty knobs for the pan and tilt handles they would fit in the carry bag. But instead the hanles have to be removed when you put it away, and screwed back in every time you set up. Besides the extra time for setup, it will eventually wear out the threads.
