OK

But the Velcro is weak. I fear it will degrade after many uses looping it onto my belt, or folding it up for storage. On the plus side, the holster through hole is nice, with the cup on the outer side.

I have never used this holster that came with the monopod. It is nice to have in the event I would need it.

Not secure on your belt - uses velcro

I had hoped to use this on my ThinkTank SpeedBelt as a monopod support for a 400/2.8 No Joy. I'll just have to find another use for this Oben product since it's not worth sending back. Reasons: The belt attachment uses velcro: This tears free when any substantial weight is put in the pocket. The distance between velcro and velcro pad on the is too short; for that reason only thinner belts might work. Maybe 1 or less. The dual pocket is interesting: one pocket for support and another to slip the monopod through wheb not using. Not my use-case, unfortunately. Material is acceptable. Stitching is acceptable. Just needs a better design for attaching to an existing belt, especially wider ones, and something that will not tear off user load. No velcro, please. (I wound up using a Kinesis T166.)

I have never used this with my monopod because I have not needed to. However, it is nice to have in the event I ever needed to.

Very, very cheap, Has a hole with a metal gromet on the side (not shown in picture) the fabric is torn around the gromet. What is this hole with a gromet and a cheesey clip for? Don't know. Fixed the fabric around gromet hole with larger washer and bolt screw. Confused yet ? Yes I am. Still cheap but sort of works. 3 stars for works. 4 stars for cheap. Don't even mention the Velcro.

great holster for Oben Monopod

this holster not only carries your Oben monopod but also has a pocket for support when using the monopod. Great for when you want to use the monopod with a little support or when you don't want your monopod foot touching the messy ground or over water.

Saves my back!

I keep this clipped to my belt and the monopod tucked into it as I move around the dance floor. It has made a profound improvment on back pain brought on holding a gimbal or monopod out in front me for an extended period of time.

I think it be helpful.

I haven't had the chance to take it out in the field yet but I think it's going to be very useful--both for carrying the monopod on the trail and as a way of stabilizing the monopod for shooting in challenging terrain.

Will the holstering function of the Oben MSH-05 work with the Sirui 326 carbon fiber monopod?
Asked by: William
I would say yes. The back holds the monopod like a holster and the front pocket where you place your monopod . I'm not sure how you're planning to use this, but for me I have my monopod attached with my Panasonic HC-MDH3 AVCHD Shoulder Mount Camcorder with LCD Touchscreen & LED Light and it helps steady my video camera. The monopod closed fits close to my body and steady things, like a brace. I'm not sure what equipment you'll be using. If I don't use my monopod, it becomes a holster.

When you're holstering a monopod, what prevents the monopod from falling all the way down/through this product, e.g. during a brisk walk?
Asked by: Joe
The top of the monopod is typically wider then the lower leg of the monopod (especially if a head is included) as most monopods are tapered due to the lower legs sliding into the larger upper leg cavity. Unless your monopod is extremely slim, the larger upper section or the monopod head will stop most all monopods from sliding completely through the holster sleeve section of the Oben MSH-05 Monopod Support Holster. If you experience issues with the Oben MSH-05 Monopod Support Holster, do note it can be returned within 30 days for an exchange or a refund.

Will this fit a Think Tank speed belt vs 3?
Asked by: Armen
I have the old Think Tank speed belt, 2-1/4 in wide, but I don't remember the model number. The holster's flap will easily fit around the belt if you remove the carrying clip. It will work with the clip in-place but I think it's less secure that way. ibspics
