Initial impression is this is a strong case that seems like it will last. The lid has good fit and the case feels solid when closed up. In a pinch it could double as a step stool (though only recommended for those with good balance). My first pelican case - can see why they are popular. One minor opportunity is that not all padlocks will fit comfortably on it. The first lock I tried could not be rotated once locked. So, if you put the lock on with the keyhole facing down, it was not possible to rotate the lock for easy access to the keyhole. The thick plastic on the case presumably means better protection. Thinner metal here would have been a nice touch.
There is nothing wrong with this ammo case, it's made very well as you'd expect from Pelican but holy mother of god it's MASSIVE! Much larger than your standard 50 cal case which is a little useless for me as it's going to be super heavy when fully loaded up. That's my fault, I should have read the specs and dimensions. I'll probably use this for something else or maybe section it off, I'm not sure yet but yeah the TLDR is it's fantastic but very large.
