Cokin Diffusers have very little effect on the sharpness of the image. They merely diffuse highlights thus reducing contrast. As such, diffusers can be used to soften a landscape, or soften skin texture in a portrait to hide minor flaws. Cokin Diffusers are available in three grades, #1 (#083), #2 (#084), and #3 (#085) with #3 having the greatest effect.
This filter measures 85 x 85mm and fits the Cokin P series holder.

This is a great filter to highlight the size and color of prominent stars in your nightscape images. The attached image was with a Rokinon 14mm, f/2 manual focus lens on a Canon EOS SL3. No tracking, with three single 10-second exposures at ISO 1600, aligned and stacked together.
I use this product in my flower photography when i feel the need. It softens without being garish or distorting the photo. gives a romantic softness. Great for setting a mood. I have found nothing that i dislike about this filter. Have used it also with 81 series warming filters, and the effect is most beautiful. Also have used in wedding photography--unity candle.
