Vello OCS-FBC Reviews
Not accurate enough for my use.
I purchased this product because I use a flash trigger on my camera hot-shoe, and also like to use a bubble level to make sure my camera is level in two directions, because I do real estate photography. Yes, my EOS R has a level that I can click to on the flip out screen but it's a hassle to go to that screen for every time I move the camera, plus it's slower and more difficult to use than a bubble level. So I bought the perfect adapter (I thought) which would allow me to use my bubble level and a flash trigger without having to switch them constantly. Unfortunately, the first one sent by B & H was assembled poorly so that the entire unit was out of level when placed in the camera hot-shoe. B & H was great, as usual, about letting me return it, and they promptly sent another. The second one is better, but not perfect. The bar sits fairly level, but the 2 hot-shoes on the bar are not level. And they are not the same amount out of level. So basically this unit will not work for me in the capacity I need it for. I'm hoping to find something better, but haven't found it yet. I may just need to make one myself out of wood. I know I could do better than the plastic one from Vello.
Product was made with a crooked base.
This TTL Bracket was made with the base (the part that attaches to a camera hot shoe) attached so it is crooked and out of level. It leans to the right and is swiveled a bit to the left. I wanted to use it with a bubble level in one slot and my flash trigger in the other, which it would be perfect for if it was made correctly. I am returning the product to B&H, and hopefully I won't be charged for shipping it back and the replacement back to me, with will be more than the price of the product. PS - I'm a big fan of B&H and purchase all my photo gear and computers from them. First issue I've had, and really it's not their fault.
