Core SWX PTC-BMPC4 Reviews
Dtap to 2 pin cable
Waited a bit before reviewing this. I have had 3 shoots now and I feel it's time. I feel like the cable should come with the core battery pack. Does the job and gives my camera juice that I need. I wish the cable was stronger looks a bit flimsy and feel as I do more shoot the more wear and tear might happen. Again does what I want so it gets 3 stars wish it was included in the battery pack as an option also need to make the cable stronger.
Cheap Cable, Expected More from Core
These cables are so cheap! I've had the exact same issue twice - the BMPCC end of the cable splits. The first time the cable lasted about two months. My second one lasted only a week (on which I only had two easy shoots!) and even issued a spark before it stopped working. Looking at it, the wires on the BMPCC end just completed frayed. It left a burn singe where the wires touched and sparked. Just awful! I love Core's batteries and I bought this cable because I thought it would be the most reliable. I can not urge you strongly enough to buy any other brand's cable.
Tight.
Very secure. Tight on both ends, which makes it reliable.
You'll need this if you buy the BMP6k
You'll need this to power your camera...don't rely on the the little one in the grip!
Perfect for BMPCC 6K Pro
This is a must-have piece of kit in my opinion. If you have spare batteries or a charger that has d-tap and the right voltage/amps this enables you to use it on the BMPCC 6K Pro to just add all day battery.
Very good quality
Powers my device with no problem quality build
I've purchased 2 of these... and they both stopped working.
This cable is not worth purchasing. At first glance, if feels durable and looks like its made of a good quality, but the honeymoon ends real quick. The cables seem to go faulty somewhere in the 2-Pin connecter housing. The first one I purchased lasted about a year. The second lasted about 7 months. I purchase the second thinking that I just purchased a bad cable the first time around and the second would be better. smh I was severely wrong. Both cables worked great when they were new then stopped working the exact same way after several months of ownership. I noticed my Blackmagic 6k was not charging so I wiggled the cable. The charge would begin when held the cable at a certain angle, then it would stop when I let go of the cable. So I got tape and did whatever I could to Jerry Rig the cable to stay in the exact position I needed it to in order to work. Eventually after a month or so of Jerry Rigging the cable, it stopped working all together. The same thing happened with both purchases. When I plugged other cables into the camera, they worked perfectly. This cable was a complete disappointment and I have no intention of seeing if the 3rd time is a charm. You'd be better off experimenting with another brand in the same price point or just purchasing a more expensive, which would hopefully mean better quality, cable.
