I'm impressed with this lav mic after a short first try with it. After installing the battery, I used it with a DSLR for recording outdoors with some minor background noise. I was impressed that there wasn't any noticeable background noise on my recording and my voice came through clearly.

Yes, it's composable with everything you want to use it for. I bought two of these. They are great mics for my video production. Nice tone, blocks noise to the sides like it should. The battery capsule has an on/off switch, but it can be hard to see. I always mark my lav mics with an identifying letter, and a strong mark for the ON position. It's easy to forget to turn the mic off and come up with a drained battery on the next shoot. The battery will last for a good long while, but turn it off when you're finished. Buy the corresponding batteries for this This uses the LR44, not the 303. I found that out by reading other sites. And by the way, even tho it SAYS that the battery compartment is marked on the + side, I haven't been able to find that. NOTE: the + side of the battery goes against the spring. You're welcome.

Good, nice and affordable

With a little driver/applet adjusting this worked a treat in my XPS laptop's combo 3.5 port. I also got it to work GREAT in my Pixel 4a..in both the 3.5 port and in the USB-C with an adaptor. Unreal value here...really improved my YT video's audio.

This lavalier microphone can be used with Apple iPad. Depending on the model, you most likely would also need the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, BH #APLAADAP to connect into the digital input of the iPad.

Can I plug this into a Rode Procaster with a Rode XLR connector? And does it need phantom power?
Asked by: Quari
The BOYA BY-M1 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black) BH #BOBYM1 does not employ phantom power. It is powered by a single LR44 battery. The Rode Procaster Broadcast-Quality Dynamic Microphone B&H # ROPROCASTER is a microphone and will not accept another microphone's input.
