Godox AD600B Witstro TTL All-In-One Outdoor Flash

The AD600B Witstro TTL All-In-One Outdoor Flash from Godox is a versatile tool compatible with several TTL systems, including Canon E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL, Sony, and Panasonic. It offers up to 600Ws with nine steps of output power, ranging from 1/1 to 1/256, and comes with a powerful 11.1V /8700mAh lithium-ion battery pack that provides up to 500 full-power flashes. Alternatively, you can run the monolight on AC power with an optional adapter for situations where portability is not a concern. A useful and interesting feature is its dual-head connection option. Two AD600 flash heads can be mounted to a separately purchased H1200 portable flash head to jack up the power to 1200Ws.

The AD600B features a high-speed sync mode that works with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 second to control background light intensity, and offers flash durations from 1/220 to 1/10,000 second for stopping action. Part of Godox's wireless system, the AD600B has an onboard 2.4 GHz X System that allows wireless triggering at distances up to 262' with the purchase of a Godox transmitter. The flash head has a Bowens-type front accessory mount that not only makes it compatible with Godox accessories, but also with light shapers from the many manufacturers that use this popular mount.

  • 2.4 GHz wireless system with a range of 262' / 80m, featuring five controllable slave groups and 32 channels
  • Guide number of 285' at ISO 100
  • Can work as an optical slave with S1 and S2 modes
  • Color temperature of 5600K (±200K)
  • 3.5mm sync cord slot for direct connection, wireless control port, and USB port for firmware upgrades
  • First curtain and second curtain sync modes
  • Dot-matrix LCD display for on-board control
  • Bowens-type mount for use with compatible accessories
Angler BoomBox Octagonal Softbox with Bowens Mount V2 (36")

The BoomBox Octagonal Softbox with Bowens Mount V2 from Angler is a 36" octagon-shaped softbox designed for use with monolights, flash heads, and LED lights with Bowens reflector mounts. The lightweight and portable BoomBox is an indispensable accessory used for quickly setting up a light in the field or in the studio. It opens up like an umbrella and eliminates time-consuming softbox setup with an integrated speed ring and flex rods.

The BoomBox features a reflective silver interior that amplifies the light and throws a punchy, specular beam, ideal for when an image needs contrast and sharp detail. Its removable front diffuser and inner baffle provide a soft wraparound light great for portraits and fashion, while its classic octagonal shape directs light and prevents spill, while providing natural-looking catchlights in your subject's eyes. It also features a removable deflector plate that transforms the box into a beauty dish-style light and helps eliminate potential center hot spots.

The BoomBox is as easy to open as an umbrella. Great for in the studio or on location, the BoomBox folds up just as quickly as it sets up. The integrated aluminum support rods are attached to the umbrella mechanism to provide rigidity to the box, so it keeps its shape when attached to a light stand or other support, even in demanding outdoor conditions.

The BoomBox is outfitted with a Bowens S-type 144mm adapter ring for use with a large variety of monolights and studio flashes. Optional 144mm rings are available for use with Broncolor, Elinchrom, and Profoto lights.

  • For monolights and flash heads with Bowens mounts
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Opens and closes like an umbrella
  • Integrated aluminum support rods
  • Deflector plate minimizes hot spots and diffuses light
  • Silver interior
  • Removable front diffuser and inner baffle

Impact 40" C-Stand with Turtle Base and Grip Arm Kit (40", Chrome)

The 40" C-Stand with Turtle Base and Grip Arm Kit from Impact is an industry-standard go-to lighting accessory used on practically every photo, video, and film set. The stand features steel and aluminum construction for strength, and it lives up to the name "century stand" for its durability and because it has at least a hundred different uses. The stand is made to industry-standard size, so it will perfectly fit on grip trucks or C-stand racks and carts. When combined with the 2.5" grip head and 40" grip arm, there's no better tool for supporting light fixtures, a wide variety of grip gear, and light-modifying gobos.

The removable turtle base features a junior 1-1/8" junior receiver that allows the riser to be removed and exchanged for a different-size riser or a stand adapter for low-angle shooting. Impact's unique quick release leg lock collar simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. Other unique features like hexagonal brake castings, welded legs, and custom locking knobs give these C-stands a classic, sleek, and streamlined look.

Industry-Standard Size
This 40" C-stand is designed to perfectly fit grip trucks or C-stand racks and carts. The legs are standard-sized to allow close nesting with comparable C-stands when several stands need to be deployed in a tight space.
Spring-Loaded Leg Lock
The spring-loaded leg locking collar allows for fast and easy deployment and breakdown with no twisting, turning, or wrestling with the legs. Once the locking collar is released, gravity takes over, and the legs simply fall into place in seconds.
Removable Turtle Base
The Turtle base allows the main riser to be detached for easy transportation when space for your gear is limited. Also, the turtle base incorporates a 1-1/8" junior receiver for when a light fixture or accessory needs to be mounted close to the ground.
Custom T-Handles
The C-stand's locking handles are designed with classic Hollywood in mind, but don't let the stylish look fool you. These large, ergonomic handles fit your hand, are easy to grip, and offer maximum torque for securing those valuable payloads.
5/8" Knurled Baby Pin
The simplest design advantage can save time and effort, especially if you've ever experienced a horizontally mounted light slipping out of position due to a poor grip on a smooth pin. The top baby pin is knurled for superior hold. Set your lights once, and they won't slip out of position.
2.5" Grip Head
The 2.5" grip head provides a 5/8" hole for grip arms and other baby-pin attachments, a 3/8" hole for gobos, and a 1/8" hole for securing the thin wires used for rigging accessories with metal wire. Beefy aluminum construction and a steel central bolt can secure light fixtures or other accessories, like booms, plus small butterfly and overhead frames.
40" Grip Arm
A staple on any film, video, or photo set, the included 40" grip arm is made of sturdy steel and engineered to securely hold most lights, light modifiers, and grip gear. The 40" grip arm features a hexagonal 5/8" baby pin tip and is ideal for rigging a moderately heavy light directly over the camera lens or hanging an accent or hair light above your subject.

Godox AD600B Reviews

Exactly what I needed for shooting some interiors

I shoot architecture and while I prefer to shoot at a time of day in which I do not have to fight daylight streaming in through windows... my clients often want to see the view outside. Clearly the challenge is achieving a level and QUALITY of light that I can use to expose the windowed wall for compositing in Photoshop. The strobe I had been using was an old Flashpoint that probably put out about 250 WS of light. It always was about a stop to a stop and a half shy of ideal. Today I photographed an elementary school for an architect and this light puts out enough power to bounce off of a ceiling or wall 15-20 feet from the windows to achieve a soft but sufficient amount of light to fight the sun. For some of my shots today I had to dial back the power. The strobe is not really lightweight but the stand attachment fits decently into the hand to serve as a handle. I also got the wireless transmitter. One word of caution... twice I inadvertently changed the receive mode on the light. Not sure how I did that but if it is in wired or optical slave mode the transmitter will not be picked up. This is easily the best option for me at this point. My Flashpoints served me well for many years but this is a definite step up... and the price is about commensurate with the improved performance.

This monolight works best with a Godox X series transmitter to utilize the TTL functions. That transmitter is camera-dependent. Here are the options: https://bhpho.to/2U0VoMk

Does anyone have a way to remove / fix / modify the ratchet so that the tilting mount operates similarly to the Pro version? The ratchet is very irritating and doesn't allow for precise tilt adjustment. Thanks!
Asked by: Justin
We are not aware of any modification that can be down to the tilting stand mount on the AD600B. However, you may want to add a Impact Heavy-Duty Swivel Pin, BH # IMSRP118 between the light and your stand to add some articulation. https://bhpho.to/3NBsOdO
