Polsen DPM-7 Overview

The DPM-7 Lightweight Dynamic Handheld Microphone from Polsen is an affordable cardioid microphone with an XLR output that comes with its own balanced XLR to 1/4" cable. It features a wide frequency response, off-axis rejection, and focuses on capturing sound directly in front of the capsule for voice and instrument applications. This reduces the possibility of feedback during a band rehearsal and helps to eliminate extraneous room noise.

The DPM-7 microphone is equipped with an on/off switch and a balanced XLR output, which helps to improve sound quality by preventing interference like static or hum from entering the signal path. The DPM-7 microphone needs no batteries or 48V phantom power, just plug it in, set your levels, and go to work.

Dynamic Microphone
The DPM-7 doesn't require batteries or phantom power to operate. Just plug it in, set your levels, and go to work.
Vocals and Speech
The DPM-7 microphone can be used for singing karaoke or making your own YouTube video and is suitable for laying down a quick voice-over or miking a band rehearsal.
XLR Output
The balanced XLR output ensure you won't pick up unwanted static or hum from interference.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The DPM-7's cardioid polar pattern rejects off-axis sound and focuses on the sound directly in front of it. It is designed to reject extraneous sound while it focuses on your voice or instrument. Furthermore, when you're rehearsing with a band, the DPM-7 helps reject the bleed from speakers in the room that can cause feedback.
Wide Frequency Response
The DPM-7's frequency response is from 50 Hz to 20 kHz and offers to capture the nuances of your voice or instrument with full detail.

Good microphone for its price. Does the work. Comes with a cable to plug in to your karaoke machine.

OK mic - hey, it's $5

This mic works fine for room or crowd sound, or if you just want a mic that you can use in settings where you'd rather not use a more expensive model. It sounds OK on spoken word but I wouldn't make it a primary recording mic. Be aware that it requires a LOT of gain. Polsen makes decent stuff for its price point. The included XLR female-to-1/4 cable is worth the price alone.

Does this microphone deliver better sound quality?

Better sound quality would depend on what you are comparing this mic to. For a decent sounding economical microphone, we would recommend B&H # SHPGA48XLR.
