Kenko TELEPLUS HD Pro 2x for Nikon F Reviews

Straightforward A

Worked exactly as described. I had a 2x Nikon tele extender. It only worked with certain lenses and lacked the sharpness I expected from Nikon. The Kenko works with all my lenses. Some require manual focus. But it sharp as a tack.😁 I would have posted a few pictures taken with my Nikon 850, but the 10mb limit killed that.☹️

AF Hunts with my medium and longer Telephoto lenses

I like the quality and build. The accompanying instructions said there would be a light internal rattle when not connected to a lens and that the noise was normal. I like being told in advance of such things. I have been playing with this converter for about 4 weeks on a D7500. So far it is doing what I need it to do. Autofocus worked ok in varying levels of lighting on the 18-55mm lens. AF on the 55-200mm seemed to be dependent on the lighting and the subject. Sometimes it would focus other times it would not. For me, AF on the 70-300mm lens spent more time hunting than anything else, regardless of lighting or subject. This is okay with me. I am used to manually focusing mid-range telephoto lenses. All other lens-to-camera communications seem to work well. Note: I wouldn't normally use a converter on an 18-55mm lens. I just wanted to see if it would autofocus. Is this product compatible with a AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 G zoom lens? If so, which of the lens/camera features will work and which will not?
Asked by: Bruce
It is compatible with electronic communication for exposure, etc.. but AF will not work given the slow aperture of the 28-300mm.

Can this teleconverter be mounted on TT Artisan 500mm f/6.3 lens?
Asked by: Nikola
The Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F only supports select Nikon and Tokina lenses; compatibility with the TTArtisan 500mm f/6.3 Lens (Nikon F) cannot be guaranteed as this is not a supported lens.

Will this work with a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm ...

Will this work with a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens and Nikon D700 camera? What are the shortcomings?
Asked by: MITCHELL
Yes, the Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F would be compatible for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens on the Nikon D700 DSLR camera. Do note that as the Nikon D700 DSLR camera requires an equivalent maximum aperture of f/5.6 or brighter to maintain autofocus, and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens would be the equivalent of a 600mm f/8 lens when connected to the Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F, you would not be able to autofocus with this setup. You would have to focus manually. That being said, automatic exposure, automatic metering, and Vibration Reduction capabilities should still be available.

Is it compatible with the Nikon Z5 with Z to F adaptor and the Nikkor AF-S 70-300 mm F mount. Will AF still work?
Asked by: Ron
Theoretically Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 2x DGX Teleconverter for Nikon F will work in that combination and provide autofocus but only testing it out to really make sure you don't get any error messages. The good news is that you can return it within 30 days if it does not work. Just keep the box and all accessories and follow our return policy.
