Moto Moto X4 Overview

  • 1Description

Experience the next generation of dynamic handheld performance with the unlocked fourth-generation Moto X4 XT1900-1 32GB Smartphone in Super Black. The IP68 water- and dust-resistant glass and metal Moto X4 is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and 3GB of RAM. It comes equipped with 32GB of storage and includes a microSD slot for expansion. The phone features a reversible USB Type-C interface for charging and data transfer and a front-mounted fingerprint reader.

The Moto X4 is equipped with a 5.2" IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution. For your photo and video needs, the Moto X4 features two rear-facing cameras, one 12MP f/2.0 for standard shots and one 8MP f/2.2 with an ultra-wide 120° lens. In low-light conditions, color-correlated temperature dual-LED flash and auto HDR improve camera performance. A front-facing 16MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.0 aperture and its own LED flash helps you take selfies in all conditions. For even better low-light performance, the front camera reduces its resolution to 4MP, enabling pixels to combine for improved light capture.

The Moto X4 is well-equipped for wireless communication. It features Bluetooth 5.0 technology for pairing with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi for high-speed Internet connectivity. GPS with GLONASS is also on-board for using compatible location services and applications. The X4's 3000mAh battery is designed to provide "All Day" mixed usage on a full charge, and thanks to TurboPower technology, it can provide up to six hours of power from only 15 minutes of charging using the included charger.

GSM + CDMA / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM and CDMA networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband Internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can't get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
North American Variant / US Compatible LTE
The XT1900-1 is a US variant of the Moto X4. The XT1900-1's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America. It can also be used in other parts of the world; however, LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. The full list of compatible carrier frequencies can be found herezvaecfcuwtwutffryvaqsxcv, the frequencies this phone supports can be found in the product specs.
Android One
Designed by Google, Android One phones feature a small, curated set of pre-installed apps that are designed to maximize functionality and available storage space on your smartphone. In addition to a streamlined software library, Android One phones gain free, unlimited high-quality photo storage with Google Photos, regular security updates, two years of OS upgrades, and additional software innovations from Google.
Android 7.1 Nougat
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google's web search. It's a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your homescreen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to more than one million apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 7.1 Nougat adds major productivity capabilities to the operating system in the form of a multi-window view, which allows for two apps to be placed onscreen at a time. An improved notification system allows you to interact with texts and emails right from your notification pane - without needing to open the app. Other features include file-based encryption, a Data Saver mode, the ability to scale text and icons to better suit your phone's screen, and more.

Moto Moto X4 Reviews

X4 XT1900-1 32GB Smartphone (Unlocked, Android One, Super Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Value - When offered at 165 My wife and father in law both were in need of new phones. I jumped all over this when it was on sale at 165. Best deal Ive seen in a long time. Minimal bloat near stock AOSP and with the Android One edition it should get another 18 months of security updates. Better than expected camera. Just a solid phone at any price. At the current price of 335, Id have a hard time giving it 5 stars since you can get similar quality phones at that price or even cheaper. If the price goes back down under 200 youre not getting anything better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid phone Overall, a good phone for the cost (200). Its responsive and updated to Pie. My main niggling gripe is that the back is so slick that you must have a case. Im actually not a fan of cases, cause I prefer to not have the bulk, but this thing will slide off a table with seemingly levitation powers. The size of the phone is manageable for average man hands. Camera is good. I like that there is an sd slot, which seems to be getting more rare. Screen colors are good, but it does suffer some in bright light. The fact that its unlocked for most any carrier is a positive. In summary, its not a phone to wow, but its a satisfying device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance & Beautiful Design Upgraded to the Moto X4 from a G3 and couldnt be happier. Its smooth, sleek and doesnt miss a beat multi-tasking. Arrived with Android 7.1 and now running 9.0 flawlessly. Dont know how long its going to be offered for $164.99 here on B&H but luckily I grabbed one before they got backordered. I would highly recommend getting a flexible TPU silicone case as well as this phone is all glass and quite slippery. This unit is bundled with a Republic Wireless sim card. Ive been a customer of RW for several years on their Refund Plan and consistenly enjoyed a consumer friendly sub $12 monthly bill. With my new Moto X4 I have now stepped up my game to their $20 plan, which is still an incredible bargain, IMHO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Dont Need to Spend $1000 on a Flagship Phone This phone has unbelievable performance for well under $200.    Even though it only has a mid-range processor, it gets the job done, running smoothly even with several open apps.  Its an Android One device, so no bloatware and fast updates.  It updated to Android Pie right away.  The fit and finish are beautifully crafted.  The classic 16:9 aspect ratio gives you much more viewing area from left to right, which is what really matters.  The tall 19.5:9 aspect ration of the newer phones is a marketing gimmick.  It allows the manufacturer to quote a larger diagonal screen size, but its at the expense of a less readable viewing area due to its narrow width.  The Moto X4 is simply an amazing phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Im very happy with my new phone. The price was great on sale but I had to wait a month for it because it was back-ordered. It updated (many updates) to the latest version of Android and copied all my apps and settings from my previous phone. It is much more responsive and has several improved features. The only feature lacking from my old phone is the IR remote, The enhanced camera features are very nice. but the wide-angle camera has a noticeable curve distortion. I went with the included Republic Wireless offer and have been pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!! I am super happy with my Moto X4!! It is a snappy phone that probably has more features than I need. It charges super fast, the pictures it takes are high quality. It is just the right size, not too small, nor too big. I strongly recommend this phone to anyone who is not an isheep. No need to spend(waste) money on a new phone every year.  We will likely get my wife one very soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice phone/camera issues Had phone a little over a week. Its updated to Android 9/Pie with no problems. Handles pretty much everything Ive tried with it (texting, voice, music streaming, web browsing ,etc). Camera works good on regular mode. When I change to landscape/wide angle mode it either shuts down camera or has a lag before it will take photo. This has been my main complaint. (App problem ?? )you listening Motorola/Lenovo?). Voice quality is not as good as budget Samsung J3 that I had on Verizon but that could be because I changed to Sprint. Works similarly to Moto G5 plus 64gb 4 g ram I gave to my wife. I put in a 128 gb micro card for $22 so keep that in mind as 32gb is not nearly enough storage. I feel as though I got it at a great price and and Im satisfied thus far.
