I used my pentax K1 and it did surprisingly well - it's a heavy camera!
Is it better on lighter cameras? sure but I shot about 9 waterfalls (long exposure) with it and they photos were great.

I just received this tripod and there is an empty screw hole on the side directly opposite the ball head tension knob. In the photos on the site, something is in this hole. What am I missing?

BH #APLJJ06, is a piece of plastic that covers the screw inside, it seems yours may be defective if you have an empty screw hole there.
