Great recycle time with canon 600ex rt. Full bust recycled quickly. Flash power cable fits and works perfect. I carry the pack hanging from shoulder with the strap or just hanging from light stand. Recommend to all.

This battery pack is a great compliment to any portable lighting setup that utilizes speed lights. It is also a great asset to the run and gun photographer who needs consistent, reliable power to his on camera flash. I have not used the packs to exhaustion, so I cannot give you a definitive answer to how many shot you will get, but you will get a very fast recycle time and over 1000 shots per charge.

After I gave this a full charge, I attached it to my Canon 580 EX II and started shooting. The flash recycle rate was very impressive.

Great Battery, Terrible Cables

By Robert

I wrote an initial review of this product with the headline, Great battery with one very small annoyance in 2020. As it turns out, there are two annoyances and the second one is a big one. I continue to use these batteries to power my Canon 600EX II RT strobes with good results but I have found that the connector cables are problematic and faulty. For me, shooting 4-5 sessions per week, a cable lasts about a month. I don't remember how many additional cables I have purchased - but it's at least a dozen in the past year. For anyone who has had problems with this unit, I would encourage them to buy some extra cables. I keep spares on hand because I know it's just a matter of time before I'll need to reach into my bag and pull out a new one. I will also point out that I do not stretch or abuse the cables and actually keep both my batteries and cables in a custom, foam-lined SKB hard case. Bolt/Gradus Group should address this annoying and costly cable issue if they intend to market to professional photographers. There are many other options out there that perform equally well or better, without the cable unreliability. And I'm presently evaluating them to escape my Bolt cable/connector nightmare.

IMHO the best flash battery pack currently available

I did not buy this to take pictures bang bang bang. The instruction do say do not take more than 40 photos continuous photos at full power. and then, you must wait 10 minutes for things to cool down. My reason was that I like using low ISO's for my photos. This allows me to take a photo with full power flash and less than a second later it is ready for another photo. The fact that I can charge my phone with it is just a nice convenience. Anyway, I'm exceptionally pleased with this product.

Does as expected

It is a little bulkier then expected, but the unit works great.

Works great, lasts forever

I've used various Quantum power packs over the years and this battery works better than any of them. It recycles faster and has more capacity than even my old lead-acid Quantum Turbos. I like being able to switch the cells also. My only negative is that the build quality seems a bit weak. But it has held together so far after a few hard weeks, so I'm hopeful. It's definitely a good value for the price.

They out last me, seem to go all night.

This replaced a quantum battery and it seem to last even longer and weigh less. Use on both my Canon and Quantum speedlights. Just have to be careful not to overheat the Canon flash with too many pops in a row. I have a 400 as well this is just a little bigger but 20% more power. They all use the same cables as the Quantum did, plus this one has a USB port. I have been using this one to power a remote flash, while the 400DR is still use for the on-camera flash. As with the 400DR the protective caps seem to be the week point. So, as I'm setting up the protective cap goes back in the bag as I plug in the cable.

Since the majority of the Godox flashes use a Canon CZ type high voltage connection, this battery would be compatible as long as you use a cable such as the Bolt CZ2 HV Locking Flash Power Cable for Select Canon Flash Units, BH # BOCZ. https://bhpho.to/3nLFiEf
