The V-CLICK is suitable for mounting an onboard monitor, small light, microphone, or other accessory incorporating a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 thread. It features a pushpin release, a 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 bushing, and two 1/4"-20 screws for mounting the base.

I've got it. It looks exactly as shown. I press the button but can't get the top plate to separate. What am I doing wrong?

When the quick release button is on your right hand side of the Beachtek V-CLIK Quick Release Plate for Camera Accessories, press the button all the way in, and slid the top plate back away from the base to release the plate.
