Ideal for advanced high school, biology, college, veterinarian, medical, or technical applications, the Swift Optical M3802CB-4 Binocular Cordless LED Microscope is a versatile microscopy device that can be easily brought into the field and used where there are no conventional power outlets.
A Siedentopf-style binocular head is set at a comfortable 45° angle to the body for a natural and comfortable viewing position with the ability to rotate the head assembly a full 360°—making it easy and convenient for multiple people to share the eyepieces. The head is equipped with dual 10x eyepieces that, when combined with the objectives, produce magnifications from 40x to 1000x. Semi-plan objectives present a flat field of view across about 80% of the center portion, so the only noticeable curvature (spherical aberration) will be around the edges of the view. The objectives are all parfocal and parcentered, so that little or no focus adjustment will be required when changing magnifications, and the center of the view will remain consistent between objectives.
Its dual-speed coaxial focuser features a tension adjustment on the coarse adjustment so there is no slippage when the knob is released, and the fine focus knob is graduated, allowing differential measurements to be recorded. A large 5.75x4.75" stage has integrated rulers and slide clips as well as specimen holders to make it easy to view a variety of specimen types. The lower cool-white LED illumination has a rheostat to control the intensity and is directed through a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm to give you extreme control of the light coming through to the stage. Utilizing current LED technology delivers higher light efficiency than a conventional tungsten bulb with a cool operating temperature that prolongs specimen life when viewing live material, while also being energy efficient to extend battery life.
- Binocular eyepiece configuration makes it easier and more comfortable to use versus monocular heads
- Siedentopf-style head design enables the interpupillary distance between eyepieces to be adjusted without affecting the focus, making it easier and more convenient to share between multiple people
- 360° rotating head makes it easier to share the eyepieces among students and colleagues while seated around a table
- Head set at a 45° angle to place user's head in a comfortable viewing position
- Quad-objective turret is mounted in reverse position to facilitate ease in changing slides with ball bearings for smooth and precise positioning of objectives
- Color-coded objectives provide fast identification of the selected magnification
- Wide 54-76mm interpupillary adjustment range accommodates a variety of users
- Curved body with integrated carry handle promotes proper and safe handling
- Dual 18mm 10x eyepieces
- Four magnification choices provide a wide range for a variety of applications: 40x, 100x, 400x, 1000x
- DIN standard 4x (0.10 N.A.), 10x (0.25 N.A.), and 40xR (0.65 N.A.), and 100xR (1.25 N.A.) semi-plan objectives
- Semi-plan (semi-planar) objectives correct spherical aberration for center 80% of the field of view so specimens will appear flat with the only perceptible curvature at the edges
- Objectives are parfocal so little or no focus correction is required when switching between magnifications and parcentered so the center of the view will remain the same when changing objectives
- Dual-speed coarse and fine coaxial focusing mechanism produces tack-sharp views for all users
- Tension adjustment on the coarse focuser eliminates drift when the knob is released
- Fine focus knob is graduated, allowing differential measurements to be recorded
- Large 5.75 x 4.75" stage easily holds specimens other than slides
- Rulers on both X and Y axes enable measurement of specimens
- Built-in, low-profile, ball-bearing mounted mechanical specimen holder with low-position controls
- 1.25 Abbe rack-and-pinion condenser
- Iris-style diaphragm with lever control allows user to improve their subject's contrast for better views
- Variable-intensity lower 3W cool-white LED illuminator provides transmitted specimen illumination
- Cordless design makes the microscope ideal for field work
- LED illuminator is more energy efficient than traditional bulbs, greatly increasing battery runtime
- Runs on three included rechargeable AA nickel hydride batteries that provide up to 50 hours of runtime
- Battery charging cradle included: Automatically shuts off when batteries are fully charged, eliminating overcharging and shortening of battery life; plugs into standard US wall outlet
