Audio-Technica AT618A Reviews

Useless

It doesn't really sit flush against the record and flatten the vinyl as it should. I am surprised to see such a poorly engineered item from Audio Technica. There is only a small portion of alloy in the center that touches the vinyl around the spindle. Most of the circumference is just a rubber sleeve around the center that doesn't make contact with the record. This would only help in the case of a severe dish warp and even then it would only work on one side. Useless item.

It does work (at least to my ears)

In my opinion, record weights do work...I use this consistently while listening to vinyl, and it does help with the sound, at least to my ears. As one should note, it will not help with severely warped records.
