Its either me and my four other spirit levels, or this just isn't a very accurate product. Not sure what the problem was. I tried multiple surfaces, but this this bullseye style spirit level from Audio Technica refused to sync up or match up with anything- even a 4 dollar bullseye level from an ACE hardware store. I requested a replacement, but still didn't really have any luck with the replacement, though it did seem more accurate. Believe or not, but I just flipped this on its side as it has rolling capability and used it to level my turntable that way instead. What a joke, but I did however level my turntable and that's really all that matters. I can see why Audio technica doesn't even sell this on their site anymore, probably too many complaints. I don't know anyone dumb enough to pay 80-100 USD for a bullseye style spirit level for a turntable, and I just can't imagine paying more than 25-40 USD for a decent one that just works.
A bubble level is a necessity for proper turntable setup.I researched reviews for available bubble levels and noted that the AT615a bubble level got the highest and best reviews based upon accuracy. I have tested this level using my go to line level and my other multi use levels that are accurate but not suitable for turntable leveling and found the AT615a to be spot on. The level is well made and is now a part of my arsenal of turntable set up tools. My three turntables are all more easily leveled using this circular design.
