This KIPON Macro Lens Mount Adapter for Leica M-Mount Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera is specifically designed to support macro mode. Thanks to a built-in helicoid, it can be turned to further focus the lens beyond its minimum focus distance, effectively increasing magnification. Please note that once the helicoid is adjusted out of its original position, infinity focus will no longer be available. When the adapter is in its original position, the infinity focus function will continue to work as usual.

KIPON L/M-SL M Reviews
Avoid
Functioned as described for a couple of months, reducing the closest focus distance of my m Leica and Zeiss lenses but fell apart later from normal use while in my camera bag with a lens attached to it. Helicoid separated from the adapter. Unusable now. Two messages to Kipon left unaswered.
Adds versatility to M-lenses
This is a solidly built adapter that looks right on an SL body and does exactly what it promises. I have tested it on Summarit lenses which, although not very fast, have a lovely bokeh, and the ability to get closer really helps explore that. I also have the OEM adapter and am torn between having its automatic exif-tagging and profile switching versus the close-focus versatility of the Kipon. As for now, the Kipon is winning. The rotation mechanism is quite stiff. I prefer to turn it all the way and then revert to using the focusing ring/tab on the lens. The one star deduction is because the lens release button in my copy is scraping slightly against the outer ring, and is making a silver wear mark.
