The rangefinder is activated using an intuitive two-button interface located on the right optical barrel. Its in-view display has five brightness settings, displays distance in yards or meters, and can be focused for clarity. Built to survive in punishing conditions, the Fury's chassis is wrapped in a protective rubber armoring that is textured to provide a secure slip-resistant grip. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to provide water and fogproof performance in even the most extreme conditions. All exposed lens surfaces are treated with Vortex's ArmorTek coatings to protect against scratches, oil, and dirt. Tethered objective lens covers and an ocular rain guard are easy to remove when quick reactions are required, and go on quickly to keep rain and snow out.

Wow!

I was on the hunt for 2 months, looked thru Leica geovid r, Steiner predator lrf, Leupold bx4 range, sig kilo 6, gpo 10x40 range guide and vortex 3000’s, pretty much anything under $1600, then my buddy brought in his vortex fury 5000’s, it was like the heavens opened up. My issue with many of the others were I wear glasses while viewing, compound that with a tight interpulinary number and on most of them, I couldn’t get a full field of view, not so with the vortex 5000’s. The glass is very clear and when you hit the range button, be prepared because the distance is already popped up, I couldn’t believe how fast they ranged. Here’s the bad part, they have been discontinued and replaced with the 3000’s which aren’t horrible but they are not in the same league as the 5000’s. So, if you’re on the fence you better act now.

I like all about these thus far except it seriously needs a crosshair or dot donut rather than the huge donut without knowing where with the donut the laser is hitting. Used this a lot in SD shooting prairie dogs. Glass is great

What is the ranging speed on the Vortex Fury 5000 HD?
Asked by: Tice
Target speed is not a feature of this device. Maybe this is what you meant ? This is from page 14 of the manual. LOS Mode The LOS (Line of Sight) mode is intended for rifle shooters who are using slope correcting ballistic drop data cards, ballistic cell phone applications, or other devices with ballistic programs and who are shooting at distances beyond 500 yards and with slopes greater than 15 degree.
