The Sescom XLR Male to XLR Female In-Line Attenuator (-50 dB) is an in-line attenuator designed to bring a signal down by -50 dB. The device is a 3-pin XLR male to XLR female attenuator, and though it is reversible, it was designed to be used with input signal to be cut going in on the female end.
The attenuator is fully balanced and designed to prevent overloading peaks and distortion, doing so without tonal coloration. As this is a simple attenuator, no additional cables or adapters are necessary. Simply plug this adapter into the appropriate gear. Alternatively, you can situate it between two XLR cables to bring the signal down in transit.
The attenuator makes use of a low-noise design, employing 1% metal-film resistors in its construction to bring down signal strength without distortion. This device was assembled and quality controlled in the USA.
