I need to use this to connect my phone to my laptop as a WebCam. I am able to do that with my OEM chord, but I need a longer one. I purchased a '15 chord from Amazon but it does not work for what I want, even though it can transfer data. Will this chord do the job?
Asked by: George
The longer the chord, the greater the chance there is for signal degradation. Usually, you should be able to go up to 15' without a problem. Using your phone as a webcam for your computer adds a new wrinkle to the math. Please check with the developer of the app you're using to verify that lengths beyond 6' are realistic such connection.

Is this USB 3.1 gen 2 or something else?
Asked by: Philip
As the manufacturer has not published these specs, I can only promise Gen 1 speed.
