Apexel APL-HB5 Overview

The 4K HD Mobile Phone 5-in-1 Camera Lens Kit from Apexel is a bundle that contains a 2x Zoom Telephone Lens, a 0.6x / 110° Wide-Angle Lens, a 170° Super Wide-Angle Lens, a 195° Fisheye Lens, and a 10x Macro Lens. These lenses are compatible with iPhone XS Max, XR, X, 8, 7, and 6 Plus, as well as Samsung phones.

Use either of the wide-angle lenses to capture photos or videos with a wider field of view than standard optics would allow. With a field of view of 170°, the Super-Wide Angle Lens will capture a more expansive frame than the Wide-Angle lens, which has a 110° field of view and a 0.6x magnification factor. For extremely wide and unique perspectives, turn to the Fisheye Lens. With a 195° angle of view, this lens will create a warped perspective with barrel distortion. The Telephoto Lens has an optical zoom of 2x, allowing users to capture not only close-up shots, but subjects that are off in the distance. Lastly, the 10x Macro Lens captures extreme and finely detailed close-up shots of tiny subjects, such as insects.

When using these lenses on devices with two cameras, please use the device's main camera. Also, please remove your phone's case if the lens does not properly fit.

Macro Lens
This lens provides a magnification of 10x for detailed close-ups.
Telephoto Lens
The Telephoto Lens provides a minimum magnification of 2x to deliver photos from a distance that are of higher quality. If you'd like to create subjects with a blurred background, please keep the lens 12 to 40" from your subject. To fully utilize the 2x magnification, keep the lens at least 60" from the subject.
Wide-Angle Lens
Shoot a wide range of scenery with a magnification of 0.6x and a 110° angle of view. This lens is suitable for group selfies, travel, landscapes, and more.

Obviously is more a toy than the real thing. So DO NOT have high hopes. They are well built. I think is metal or very alike. Some instructions may not related to the set. They say to place together MACRO and another lens together. THAT CANNOT BE DONE AT ALL. So some functionality will not be possible. Placing... you have to play moving carefully the base around. You will know when to stop.

Your phone's camera must be in the position as pictured. You must not use it with the phone in a case or you will see a halo. There's a bit of a learning curve in getting the lenses positioned properly. But it is great fun, compact & does improve your cell phone images. Good value for the money.

Doesn't work with ANY kind of Case

Well...you can use these, but the clip is kind of weak and will NOT fit correctly if you have any kind of protective case on your phone.

The clip on design makes it harder to use actually. Hope they improve it with some other better designs.

I really love this little lens set. I bring it with me every where I go. Really compact and so much fun to play with. I use mine on an iphone 10 and it’s made some really beautiful images. I’ve even tried some of the lenses with my DJI Osmos. The telephoto lens is too heavy but seems to handle the weight of the others with no problem. A must have for any camera enthusiast. I’m used to working with high end camera and really expensive glass so at the end of my day, it’s nice to put all those thoughts aside and just enjoy these little toys. I feel like a kid again when I have these in my hand.

Not hard to set up and I liked that it came with lens covers and protectors already on. Lenses felt quite durable and bring a nice glossy picture at different focal lengths.

Do not buy this kit, not worth it

It may have worked for very old phones, but with the new iPhone, it is worthless. I tried every position possible, to no avail. I am sad because I spent my BH Photo gift card thinking it was going to be a cool gadget, but does not work.
