It’s very well balanced right out of the box. Nice and lightweight for my mountain goat photo shoot.

The gimbal serves its purpose. It's lightweight and sturdy, but not high quality. It's not smooth to operate, but functional. If you make the mistake of dropping it while the plate screw is a bit loose, the plate, springs and screws fall apart pretty easily. This could have been my mistake, but the replacement plate is half the cost of the gimbal for some basic metal parts.
