Chiaro Pro 67mm 98-UVATS UV Filter

The Pro 67mm 98-UVATS UV Filter is one of Chiaro’s highest-rated protective UV filters with 98% light transmission. It’s ideal for photographers of all levels who demand high-quality glass and other essential features for excellent image fidelity and construction.

To achieve 98% light transmission, Chiaro uses highly-polished optical glass, multi-coating, and additional advanced elements that improve the filter’s light transmission. A scratch-resistant coating minimizes scratching of the glass and helps assure that water, oil, dust, and fingerprints are removed with a gentle wipe. Its hard-anodized aluminum filter ring is designed to screw on and off effortlessly, and it is thin to prevent vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses. Side knurling helps assure that you’ll have a firm grip when attaching or removing your filter.

Image quality is what matters most at Chiaro. The company has tested and combined many features and essentials to achieve superior image quality and the highest light transmission. To help take the confusion out of selecting a filter, Chiaro prominently displays the light transmission levels so that you can choose the perfect filter for your lens and photo session.

98% Light Transmission
Protecting your lens doesn't mean you have to lose optical quality. By using highly-polished optical glass and advanced coatings, Chiaro offers a 98% transmission rate, which is an excellent transmission rate for glass. And the company verifies the ratings with ISO certified lab testing.
Resistance Coating
The layers of advanced resistance coating on the filter are designed to resist moderate scratches, and allow you to easily clean your filter. Water beads up and rolls off your filter, and oil and fingerprints can come off with a gentle wipe. Dust and debris won't adhere to the filter and can be removed with a puff of air.
Polished Optical Glass
Glass that's polished to perfection is essential to achieve a high level of light transmission. The optical glass in this Chiaro filter is highly-polished for flatness that ensures excellent optical clarity.
Multi-Coating
Multi-coating enhances light transmission to the demanding level set for all Chiaro filters. It reduces unwanted internal reflections and ghosting that can compromise your images.
UV Protection
The filter blocks UV light and reduces the bluish cast of daylight that can affect color accuracy, especially at higher altitudes.
Hard Anodized Aluminum Construction
The process of hard anodizing toughens and strengthens the aluminum for a lightweight yet durable filter ring.
Slim Design
Measuring only 3.2mm, this filter is slim enough to use on wide-angle lenses without experiencing vignetting.
Top and Side Knurling
In addition to top knurling, Chiaro added side knurling to better grip the filter when you're attaching and removing it, or when you're stacking filters.
Secure Attachment
It takes two full turns to mount the filter on your lens. This feature will securely hold your Chiaro filter through the most demanding photo shoots.
Front Threads
The front threads on the filter allow you to stack filters by screwing them onto your Chiaro filter.

Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 II Reviews

Autofocus issues

This lens offers good quality images, but its specs are for wildlife and sports, and for that its requires an excellent autofocus. It is not for action shots. I miss many good photos because of that. If it is used for stationary objects, then it is very good. Because this lens doesn’t meet my requirements, i tried to return it, but B&H would not accept the return because they claim my company had too many returns in 2025. After doing business with B&H for over 22 years and hundreds of thousands of dollarsin purchases, they have basically decided to terminate the commercial relationship. Never mind that all the returns were due to defective or subpar products. If this is their policy towards long term clients, then good luck to them.

A Winner in My Book

I normally shoot sports using a Nikon D750 with the Tamron G2's, either the 70-200mm or the 150-600mm. But this is a very heavy kit, so I decided to try my Panasonic G85 and purchased this lens. I also wanted to achieve a slightly higher frame rate with the G85. I've only taken the lens on one shoot so far, but I was pleasantly surprised. Attached is a sample image: 1/1000, f5.6, ISO 800 at 246 mm (about 500 mm equivalent), RAW converted to JPEG. I was shooting from behind the fence in centerfield using a tripod to help with framing. I think the result is exceptional, both in resolution and color. And this shot is a vertical crop from a landscape image. I haven't really tested the lens with the image stabilization, or for video, but I am pleased with its performance in my first foray, and I believe it represents surprising value in terms of price. My rating of 4 stars may not be fair. It should be 5 stars with an asterisk, but I clipped it because of the variable aperture, not any inherent flaw in the lens itself. I covet the same lens, but with a fixed f4 aperture throughout the zoom range.

Does anyone know the difference between the US and the international version? is it the size, weight, glass, motor? what exactly makes them different?
Asked by: Charles
Hi Charles! The lenses have the same specifications. A difference will be that the warranty is applicable in the US only for the US model. As well, the international lens model may not be compatible with all the US camera models. -G

question

I want to buy some MFT lenses for my JVC LS300. Are all the Panasonic MFT lenses parfocal and will they all work with the LS300 rocker zoom?
Asked by: Denis T.
The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA451754XB and the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA144235XS can be used with the LS300 and be zoomed by the rocker switch. These lenses are not parfocal and rely on Auto Focus to maintain focus. Also note, the LS300 must crop the sensor to work with these MFT format lenses.
