Continuing FUJIFILM's series of compact, portable primes, the black XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR is a 24mm-equivalent wide-angle lens, well-suited to landscape, nature, and architectural shooting. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture balances size and speed, and is suitable for working in available lighting conditions while also limiting the overall size and weight of the lens for everyday use. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR Reviews
Superb 2.8/24- buy one! I use a 49/52 step-up ring so I can fit my 52mm filters. (All Hoya HD's from B&H). Hood? I use an xc15-45 hood. Perfect match and fit. I'm a happy man!
I never expected a 24mm to become my favorite lens, but here we are. I owned the f1.4 version prior to this one, and I prefer the f2.8 for portability. The only noticeable compromise is bokeh. But the image quality is stellar; the best micro contrast I've seen. This is the best Fuji lens for travel, environmental portraits, street and pets. If you're looking for a landscape or astro lens, go wider with the Samyang 12mm.
Great in sunny outdoor
This lens is conveniently compact and light. When paired with the xpro3, it makes a great travel setup. Outdoor sunny conditions gave excellent results - excellent details, contrasty, free of distortions. However indoor shots are not that good. This lens is not very good at large aperture settings.
You get what you paid
This lens is soft! Wide open, even the center is soft and fuzzy. Stopped down to f8, it becomes acceptable. Away from the center, it is always soft - texture is fuzzy. I put this on a brand new xpro3 so, it is not the camera (I hope). Images are just awful. I took a few shots also with a nikon z20mm/f2.8; day and night difference. I probably will try the 50mm/f1 or the 16mm/f1.4 and hope for the best. This is only good as a beater lens.
Another Fuji compact prime gem
If you're a fan of Fuji's compact prime line of lenses like I am, you'll appreciate this lens. It has the same build quality, image quality, snappy AF, and overall value that you get from the other lenses in the line with a nice wide angle of view at a very affordable price. It's small and nimble so it can literally fit in a pocket and it has weather sealing. Like most of Fuji's lenses, the optics are phenomenal. I can get pretty close to my subject with this lens and everything seems crisp and clear. Is it a super fast lens at f/2.8? No. But unless you really need to extra light or background blur that the f/1.4 offers, this lens should serve you just fine.
Nice and Versatile Wide Angle for X-E4
This lens both looks and feels great on my X-E4 body. Autofocus is very silent and fast, making it perfect for taking quick snapshots during travel. The short focal length together with the minimum aperture at 1/22 makes handheld slow-shutter photography possible even without any stabilization or ND filter. When I bring it as the only lens during trips it has proven versatile enough for landscape, food, interior, and environmental portraits. I highly recommend this lens for users who prefer portability.
Like all Fujifilm lenses this one doesn't disappoint. IQ is fantastic and the size and weight make this a perfect everyday carry.
Perfect for travel.
Great travel lens. Small, light. Sharp, especially on the new X-T5.
