Sporting a large 20.1MP 1" High-Sensitivity MOS sensor, the FZ1000 II is capable of producing high-resolution stills and video with impressively low noise levels and high clarity within the ISO 125-12800 sensitivity range. The sensor and processor also enable shooting continuously at up to 12 fps with single-shot AF, 30 fps at 8MP in 4K PHOTO modes, and UHD 4K video recording at 30p. Is this also made in Japan like the first FZ1000?
Not so fast! I just bought an Fz1000 ii from B&H. It was, unfortunately, Made in China. Had I known otherwise, I would have something else.

FZ1000 II vs FZ2500? Mainly for video.
In dpreview I heard that 1000 (not II) has a little bit sharper lens than 2500 (probably, because of shorter focal length). It's good but not enough to outweigh 2500's pluses: ND, 200mbit in 1080p, longer zoom. Especially, considering equal cost in my country.
May it be that 1000 II has better lens than 1000 (= much better than 2500)?
It is a matter of opinion but the better video performance in the 2500 makes it a better choice for video. The optical quality is slightly better in the 1000 Mark 2 but not enough to make a difference.

Does the IBIS actually work in 4K unlike the FZ2500?
Optical Stabilizer is available on both the Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ1000 II Digital Camera and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 Digital Camera during 4K video recording. The only limitation is on the 5-axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer function which uses E-Stabilization. On the Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ1000 II Digital Camera with [Rec Quality] set to [4K/100M/30p] or [4K/100M/24p] the the 5-axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer function is not available, and you are limited to the standard stabilization function. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 Digital Camera has a similar limitation when recording DCI or UHD 4K.
