Comica Audio CVM-AD1 Overview

The Comica Audio LinkFlex XLR is an XLR-to-3.5mm TRRS audio adapter allowing integration of XLR-equipped microphones and real-time monitoring for vlogs, interviews, live-streaming, and videography. Designed for use with cameras and iOS/Android mobile devices, the LinkFlex XLR features a three-position switch that allows easy selection between its smartphone- or DSLR-compatible modes, as well as an Off position for conserving the battery. Optimize signal levels by adding up to 10 dB of gain via the stepless volume control.

Connect the LinkFlex AD1's balanced 3-pin XLR jack to a microphone that doesn't require phantom power (such as a dynamic mic or a battery-powered condenser), hook the control unit to your belt, then connect its 3.5mm TRRS jack to your mobile device or camera. Thanks to the control unit's 3.5mm headphone output, real-time monitoring is as simple as plugging in a set of headphones. With over 16' of cable between the XLR jack and your smartphone/DSLR, you can maintain proper shooting distance without extension cables.

Disappointed with limited versatility

The LinkFlex XLR does works as advertised. I am using an iPhone and iPad for recordings. You can monitor your input as stipulated. However, if you are using a smart phone you cannot hear the playback for checking your recording without moving the switch from smartphone to the camera mode setting.That is cumbersome. This seems like an obvious glitch but Comica tech services says that is how it works. Plus I think this will shorten the life of the unit with the constant flipping the tiny mode switch. At least it was not expensive and it does everything else fine. But I will need to find another device that fills all of my needs. If you don't need to hear playback easily it is a good buy for the money and the sound quality is excellent.

Terrific product to connect XLR mic to Android phone

My Pixel 3a has a mic/headphone jack, and I'm able to use an SM-57 as a mic now that I have this box. There's minimal hiss from the gain being turned up. I just wish there was an easier way to determine which gain setting I've dialed in. The cord to the mic and the cord to the phone/camera -- they are both ample and sturdy. So far the battery has gone 20+ hours without needing to be changed. Battery is a CR 2032 ...that's not always easy to find in the product description.

Great tool for streaming

Very compact but effective. I bought it to use for livestreaming our church services on my samsung phone, running mics through a mixer out to the Comica into my phone. Also has headphone jack to monitor what is being sent at what levels which was the best feature. Battery powered only (CR2032) battery which is good for only a few hrs (red light came on after 3 hrs) but I havent went all the way to dead. Unfortunately, no option to use AC power.
