AViPAS AV-1281 Reviews

Very happy

Very pleased with these cameras. We now have 3 of them in our church that we use for streaming through OBS. Hardware wise, the camera is great, good color and contrast, zoom, and smooth ptz. Software setup for networked use is...weird, but works when you follow the directions. I think every time I set one up I forget about the oddities and have to reread the manual.

Have used this camera in several of my church installs. Works very well and has good resolution. Can't beat the price from B & H.

As this camera has PoE, is it possible for a single ethernet CAT6 cable to power the camera, receive video data with IP streaming into a software such as OBS, as well as receive camera control data from a joystick controller like the AV-3102, which would be plugged into another port on the ethernet switch? Is that the correct set up and can a single Cat6 cable handle all 3 of those functions? Thanks!
Asked by: Devin
Neither the AV-3102 nor AV-3104 has an ethernet interface for camera control. You would likely need the AV-3104IP for an ethernet-only solution.

Does this support HDBaseT?
Asked by: Will
It does not. This model does not have support for HDBaseT out of the box. For such a feature in a PTZ you could look at the Datavideo HDBaseT PTZ Camera with 20x Optical Zoom instead, BH #DAPTC140T. https://bhpho.to/2Y6euUy

can this camera be Daisy Chained and if so, what is necessary?
Asked by: Thomas
You can daisy-chain the AViPAS AV-1281 for camera control. You will need to use an 8-pin male to male cascade cable and go from the RS-232 OUT of one camera to the RS-232 IN of another camera.

Can I use this with Livestream Studio 6? Also can I control this camera using the Livestream Studio 6 controls within the program
Asked by: Chris
The AViPAS AV-1281 will be able to be used through its HDMI video signal with an HDMI capture card to a computer with Livestream Studio. However, since this PTZ camera is not an NDI supported camera, the control functions will not be compatible, Livestream Studio requires an NDI supported PTZ Camera such as an AIDA Imaging Full HD NDI Broadcast PTZ Camera (SKU: AIPTZNDIX12) https://help.livestream.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002070547-What-Cameras-Work-with-Livestream-Studio- https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1540190-REG/aida_imaging_ptz_ndi_x12_full_hd_ndi_broadcast.html
