In celebration of Tamron's 40th anniversary of the SP lens series, the Nikon F-mount SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD has been created to showcase their lens-making capabilities. This flexible wide-angle prime is ideal for general shooting applications, ranging from street photography to event shooting, and its impressively bright f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in difficult lighting conditions and offers increased control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements, which control a variety of aberrations in order to achieve high image clarity and sharpness. A BBAR-G2 coating has also been applied, and helps to reduce flare and ghosting for improved color and contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics, a USD motor and Dynamic Rolling-cam mechanism are also employed to ensure quick, quiet autofocus performance along with seamless full-time manual focus override. Additionally, the lens features a moisture-resistant construction along with a front fluorine coating to support working in harsh weather conditions.
- F-Mount Lens/FX Format
- Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/16
- Four Low Dispersion Elements
- Three Aspherical Elements

Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Reviews
Sharp and beautiful
Beautiful sharp lens perfect for my larger family portrait sessions!
best 35 mm f1.4 lens, indeed
sharp at f1.4 - what else do you need? Minor image degradation at the extreme edges. Only Sigma 40 mm f1.4 lens can compete, but not Sigma 35 mm f1.4. I have both 35 mm Tamron and 40 mm Sigma. Be patient with Canon 5Ds R - the latter is Canon's fault, not Tamron's. I use it on Sony A7 III as well.
Free hair !
I ordered what is supposed to be a brand new lens. When i opened the box, I can immediately see the difference between a brand new lena from factory and a lens yhat has been opened and put back. In my case, it's the latter. There are also two strands of human hair on the wrapping ! Disgusting ! Add to that when I removed the wrapping, there are finger prints and smudges on the lens' body! Thank you BH for wasting my time and gas ! It will be on it's way back to BH when I get home from work later !
A NEEDED PRIME
Needed this prime for a while but do not use enough to warrant buying the Nikon version. All reviews gave it excellent ratings and I have to say I agree. Have used only a couple times but results are fantastic. Will be using it to shoot a wedding this weekend. Sharp focus and great colors off of my D4 AND D850. Solid build. Would recommend this lens.
Tamron's Prize Fighter
In this day and age, having a 'secret-weapon' of a lens, replete with fast & accurate auto focus, beautiful coatings, a unique look, and just good overall usability-well, it doesn't occur often. This thing renders like a Summilux wide open. It is an absolute beauty. Tamron, if you're reading this, *please* run with this formula.
Stunning images
This lens is incredible! It creates crisp images that are the best I've ever taken!! It's quite heavy, as expected, but totally worth it for the final product!
High resolution, saturated colors, BEST 35mm I own
On 5Dsr the resolution matches up to the full potential on high resolution sensors, including the R7. Build quality is second to none. Excellent sharpness wide open with beautiful fall off and out of focus rendering. Very well corrected lens. Go out and buy one.
