Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision from Rocky Nook is a thought-provoking text by author and photographer David duChemin. While many photography books focus on equipment, technology, and settings, Within the Frame focuses on the heart, vision, and passion necessary to create compelling and meaningful photos. In this 10th Anniversary Edition, duChemin encourages you to search for what matters most and not give up until you convey that passion through your photography: "I'm chasing my vision, and you will chase yours in the places best suited to that. What's important is that you chase that vision intentionally and with passion, refusing to let it be anything but yours and yours alone." Through genuine and soulful discussions about the process of photographing people, places, and cultures, and the realization that our own personal point of view makes these photos and stories authentic and interesting, duChemin shows you how to seek and find your creative vision through the art of photography.

Not a how to book...much more than that

Bought this book because it was different. Didn't need another who to book but a book that was beyond that. While I'm not a professional, I do like photography, and I like to tell a story. This book helps to point up the things I see through the lens in a different way. There is not only story but history, culture and the reality of people, not posing, but being who they are. It's a kind of zen book for the interested photographer. Easy to read text and wonderful photos bring home the fact...this is not a how to book, but much more.
