This book was a valuable investment with my new camera. Gets you going faster than the Nikon User Guide and the index is valuable in finding details of D3500 features quickly. He gets you going and adds layers of experience as you use the camera and progress through sections of the book. Well worth the cost for a companion helper with a foundation of years of Nikon experience.
