The specs report that there is no modeling light, yet the back of the unit shows the left and right LED buttons for modeling lights. Does this actually have modeling light capability. Also, the left side of the unit shows a covered door to accept a LP-E6n or similar battery pack? Is this true? Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. Focus assist are modeling lights. On the left side of the unit appears to be a cover for attaching an external high speed battery pack such as the Canon LP-E6n. Can you check the unit to see if there is a connection under the rubber cover. If this is a connection port, this will be a big feature for quick recycling. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello. I cannot find an answer to this anywhere. You do not mention on your website info and the Yongnuo manual doesn't either:
Does the head on this flash (the part where the cord connects, on top of the control unit) swivel side-to-side? It looks like it might, like many regular flash do.
No other macro flashes have a controller that looks like this. Is this a Yongnuo innovation on this macro flash, allowing aiming the remote sender at slave flash receivers?
Someone must be able to answer this. This question is influencing my buying decision.

Yes, the Yongnuo YN-14EX II TTL Macro Ring Flash Kit for Canon works on the Canon 5DS R DSLR.
Note, the flash also fits on the lens. It comes with, 52, 62, 67, 72mm Adapter Rings. Your lens needs to us filters that between 52-72. And if you do not have those specific sizes you will need a step up ring.

Many reviews are saying this unit has a problem with the battery door breaking. Has this been resolved? And what is the warranty is this does happen?
We have not heard of this issue on our end. When purchasing this flash from B&H, the warranty is covered by the Gradus Group for 1 year against defects. They can be reached at [email protected] or by calling 1-212-594-2120.

With such a kit, you need to check not only if it is compatible with the camera but the lens as well. Since Yongnuo thoughtfully included 4 lens adapter rings, you are good to go with the camera and most likely any lens you have.
