    Neumann USM 69 i reviews

USM 69 i Variable Pattern Stereo Microphone (Nickel) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very bright sound I used this mic for location recording of concerts and recitals. This mic has a bold bright in your face kind of sound. It is good for recording in very dull acoustical environments, especially if you are forced to record from a distance. The sound of strings, especially violins, is too edgy for my taste, but it renders percussion instruments very well, and detail is comes through in sharp relief. The big weakness of this mic is the almost non-existent stereo separation. I have always had to enhance this in post. The sound stands up well to reverb processing.
