This does have a USB MIDI connection. As for bluetooth, you can connect an iPad via bluetooth and use Rolands Piano Partner 2 app. Bluetooth MIDI functionality may vary depending on other apps used.

Is the piano action/keybed the same as the more expensive FPs? Also, does it have stereo speakers? I wanted to buy the FP40 (?) for my 9-year old but thought it too expensive at this point.
The FP-10 has hammer-action keys, which are the same as most of the FP line, although some are only weighted. Higher end models also have 'ivory-feel' keys that mimic the feel of an acoustic piano.

This keyboard does not have an on-board recorder, however, you can use it as a controller when connected to your computer, and if you have a Mac, open up Garage Band and you will be able to use the virtual instruments to lay down tracks.
The Casio PX-160 does have a built in 2-track recorder:
