Its jaw opens wide and clamps down on one of the optical tubes, allowing full access to the interpupillary distance, addressing one of the main drawbacks to the more conventional bridge-hinge and tray-style tripod mounts. Large slip-resistant pads on the jaws secure your binocular in place at any viewing angle you need without marking, marring, or otherwise damaging it. A standard 1/4"-20 socket on the bottom is compatible with many quick release plates, heads, and photo/video/field tripods.
