The whole package is put together so you can record with the Osmo and see it on the iphone. You can put the Osmo in either facing forward or backward, while the iphone is facing you. Due to the Pocket 2 being slightly larger than the Osmo Pocket, the SHAPE Security Bracket with Selfie Grip Tripod for Osmo Pocket will not work for the pocket 2.

If the Rode Videomicro has a cold shoe attachment option which it seems to have, then you'll have no problem attaching it on top of our smartphone holder which also has a cold shoe attachment option.
