Constructed from lightweight aluminum, the Multi-Function Tray from Kupo is a useful accessory for keeping items such as mobile phones, keys, batteries, generators, and cables off the ground. The tray has a lip all around it to prevent items from rolling or falling off. Mounting options include a 5/8" receiver that can be accessed for horizontal or vertical applications, with a built-in dovetail that fits Arca-type mounts. Could this be installed on a tripod leg? From what it looks like, installing on a tripod leg would leave the surface lopsided due to not being able to adjust the level of the surface.
I do not have this tray, but you should be able to mount it to a tripod leg with a Kupo Convi Clamp, B&H # KUKG700511, and Kupo Max Arm, B&H # KUKG100211, or equivalent Manfrotto products. The adjustable arm would allow you to easily level the tray.

Yes, the Kupo Multi-Function Tray (B&H# KUKG016112) features a 5/8" receiver (which is the part of it that you see in the middle and underneath it). Typical light stands have a 5/8" male pin that will fit in that receiver. Please keep in mind that every light stand has weight limits. The Kupo Multi-Function tray weighs two pounds (i.e. one kilogram), and that's before anything is added on top of it.
