Domke 7421NY reviews

1.5" Web Camera Strap with Swivel Quick Release (Navy) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 152.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away if you use this on your camera I wanted to check no stars but I can't... Bought a pair within the last four months. Recently, I noticed fraying on the webbing attached to the rings supplied by Domke to attach to my cameras. Today, the webbing worked its way out of the rings and the camera dropped to the ground shattering the filter and shade and the zoom is totally stiff from the crash. In more than 30 years of shooting, I've never had a strap or its hardware fail until now. What a mess this has made of my camera and lens! Stay away from these defective products! I've contacted the manufacturer and will see what happens...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works for me I've tried alot of camera straps and the only two I really like is this domke strap and one by tamrac. I usually buy the domke because the swivel quick release just puts it over the top. It feels good the second you have a camera attached to it unlike neoprene straps that to me just feel unreliable and strange. This strap is like a pair of levis - it feels good and they never go out of fashion because they are always in style. P.S. I wish I could send nikon the camera strap that they give you with the camera and get twenty or thirty dollars back. I've already spent thousands of dollars on your camera that has your name emblazoned on it what makes you think I want to give you even more free advertising.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Lens is the Best. What can I say, I use this lens all the time. It looks great, it feels great, it works great. Focusing at 1.2 is a challenge, but it's really hard to beat it in terms of low light performance. I often shoot in dark places with no flash and this lens slays. 50mm is great, I've only ever been in a few situations where I couldn't get everything in the frame, and everything looks even and natural. My brother shoots on the 50mm 1.8 and in comparison, this lens works much better at 1.8, with better focus and less vignetting while giving the options for 1.4 and 1.2. Is it worth the extra thousand bucks? I think so, but it's really up to your budget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from REVIEW_NUMBER_FIELD_ Thus is the 4th Domke camera strap I bought. The other three are blue. I have put one on each camera from the early Rebel to my 5D Mark III. I saw that some one else had a bad one that unraveled and caused a drop. I am very sorry for that. That is my worst fear, but Domke has never let me down. The straps are a heavy material with great grip material sown in. It looks like two stripes and is nice to look at. You can't tell it is to help keep the camera from slipping until you touch it. These are sturdy straps. I will continue to buy them as long as Domke keeps up their quality. I like the swivel and release hooks. Very convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worries gone. Still a great strap I have been away from shooting for 15 years in management. I am just now coming home to the job I love and regathering my gear and replacing wornout items. The Domke Strap was my favorite for the 20 years I shot as a photojournalist and I was worried that when Jim Domke sold to Saunders and then on to Tiffen that the quality would drop. Not worried any longer. The quality is still there and it seems to be the same strap with all the whistles and bells that I like: the gripper under the strap to hold it on my shoulder, the quick release for when I go to the tripod and even the leather cushions so it doesn't scratch my camera at the connection points.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for any camera Your camera will go nowhere except stay around your neck with this strap. Much better than the branded straps that come with the cameras regardless of brand of camera. Stays secure around your neck due to the gripper rubber sewn in. It also stay put hanging by your side over your shoulder while you are walking and the strap doesn't really take up any more room than the stock strap when you put it in the camera bag. One of the most annoying things when carrying the camera around your neck while you are walking is the swinging of the camera. This strap eliminates that. The swivel and quick release make it very functional and never feels that it gets in the way

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Strap, Great Quality, Great Functionality I use this strap with my Nikon D200 and 17-55. This strapis much better than the standard Nikon strap. The cloth issoft, not too thick but definitely not thin and cheap, andthe embedded rubber strips make sure the camera stays onyour shoulder or neck. The swivel clips are excellent as the strap doesn't gettangled up. I like how I can quickly unhook the neck strapfrom the clips should I feel the need. The clips are verysecure and solid. I've seen plastic release clips and Ialways think that cameras attached to plastic clips are justan accident waiting to happen. The metal release clips onthis strap provide lots of confidence.Being that the swivel clips are metal, just take extra carewhen you're picking up or putting your camera down as themetal can potentially scratch or mark certain equipment. I've never had a problem with my camera because the D200 hasa metal body and rubber coating.I heard about this strap from some fellow pro photographers. I wish I had heard of it sooner so I could have used itwith my other cameras.I am very happy with this camera strap. Expertise: Serious Hobbyist Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Standard Nikon Strap

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! The Nikon straps don't work for me, I find them obnoxious and uncomfortable. I was looking for a comfortable and low-key strap that can safely carry my D700 without advertising it or the strap maker, and the D700 will at some point have the 24-70mm attached, so that's 4 lbs of gear. I love my Domke bag so I decided to give this strap a try and I am so glad I did. It is of the expected Domke quality and I love its understated, broken-in, timeless look. It's soft enough right off the bat, to easily fold into the camera bag. My main concern was the metal quick release hitting and scratching the camera as other reviewers stated but this has not been an issue for me (it may depend on how the strap is adjusted) !
