Wimberley AP-600 Quick Release Replacement Foot for Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM
Key Features
  • Arca-Type-Compatible Replacement Foot
  • Anodized 6061 Aluminum
  • Double Dovetail Design
  • Provides Rigidness and Stability
Designed for the Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM lens, the AP-600 Quick Release Replacement Foot from Wimberley is an anodized 6061 aluminum foot that is Arca-type compatible for use with most clamps and heads on the market. By replacing the original factory foot, the AP-600 adds rigidness and stability and reduces flex and vibration while mounted to a head. Additionally, a double dovetail allows accessories to attach to the bottom or the top of the foot. The lower profile of the plate provides better balance when mounted on a head as well. If you're going to use the optional safety stop screws, Wimberley recommends using a clamp with channels, which allow the screws on the foot to slide back-and-forth.

Wimberley AP-600 Reviews

No for RF 600 mm

This replacement foot is NOT functional for the RF 600, it is too short on the Wimberley Gimbal clamp which makes it impossible to balance it unless you use it at the limit of the clamp and in my opinion you put your lens and camera at risk.

Stable ad Low

Thought about replacing my existing foot for years and finally did it. Should have done it sooner. The foot makes a lower profile and provides just as much stability as the Canon foot, plus it is lighter. I highly recommend it.

I can verify this does in fact mount to the RF 600mm f4 lens. Does what it promises. Seems about 2 inches lower than the stock foot. Doesn't interfere with the lens hood.

I replaced this item from native lens foot ,it very compatible native lens collar plate and it shorter than oem lens foot ,easy to counter balance and travel in bag.I recommend replaced AP600 with native hex screw ,not issue,I used it with Gitzo series 5 monopods with wimberley MH100,it very work for BIF and quickly for travel .I recommend although it expensive but your lens is very expensive

Quality is excellent. Well machined. All necessary tools and screws were included. Very clear instructions and installation was a breeze. Fit on Wimberly gimbal is perfect.

Any great white lines iused on a gimbal is so improved by replace ment feet. I can't believe the major manufactures make such high unstable feet. Wimberley makes the best in my opinion

Compact an great value

This AP-600 replacement foot is a great replacement for the original foot on the RF 600mm f/4. I don't know why Canon doesn't design their lens feet with a built-in Arca groove. Just a couple small nit-pics, not enough to lower my rating: the underside of the handle is smooth, it would feel more secure in hand carrying the lens if it were textured. Also, a little lip on the end of the handle would also feel more secure and maybe keep your hand from slipping off the edge. It's shorter than Canon's foot, but that's by design so it can clear the end of the lens hood when reversed, and thus allow it to be closer to the lens body. It's just long enough to balance my lens on a gimbal.

Does what it says

Works well. An inch or two lower than the factory foot. Fits on the RF 600mm f4.

Your Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM Lens would not be compatible with the AP-600, but rather the Wimberley Replacement Foot for Canon 300 f/2.8 IS II, 200-400 f/4 IS, 500 f/4 IS II, and 400 f/4 DO IS II Lenses, BH # WIRFCAP603. https://bhpho.to/3zDnsMb
