The SHAPE Compact Revolt Shoulder Baseplate is a lightweight baseplate suitable for use by neophytes and professionals alike. Made from CNC-machined aluminum, the baseplate is made to withstand the rigors of the production day. The shoulder pad allows it to sit comfortably on your shoulder. The top of the baseplate features two rubber strips to protect your camera. It incorporates two ARRI-compatible rosettes for attaching handle accessories. The top of the baseplate features a 3.5"-long slot that enables adjusting your camera's position for balance adjustments.
Front and rear 15mm LWS rod clamps enable you to mount the included 8 and 4" pairs of rods to support you lens accessories in front, and power/monitoring accessories in the rear. An included 3mm Allen Key allows you to adjust the rod clamps, and the rear rod clamp is removable and attaches to the Revolt Shoulder Baseplate by two M4 screws. On the bottom of the baseplate is a V-lock plate that is compatible with most VCT baseplates. The V-lock plate has both a 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mounting hole.

Before buying this baseplate, I was worried the pad would deteriorate and melt. I called SHAPE, they reassured me by telling me the issue was resolved when they changed the recipe. Really thrilled with this baseplate. SHAPE has an amazing customer service.
Comfy pad, but it can MELT

The rubber pad melted during the summer heat, and somehow the parts that melted stayed melted and sticky. After weeks of not rehardening(?) I decided to try to wipe it away, and all that did was somehow spread out even more sticky areas??? I had to just unscrew and remove the pad altogether 😒

whats the difference between this and the universal baseplate? It's a "compact" version, but how so? is lighter weight, shorter
The main difference between the SHAPE REVOLT VCT Universal Baseplate (BP10) and the SHAPE Compact Revolt Shoulder Baseplate (BP20) is that the (BP10) has a sliding plate assembly. The Shape REVOLT Compact model ( BP20) uses a hinge setup.
