The 88 GH3 (Graded Hammer 3) keys provide realistic feel and response while the sound engine delivers the expressive tone of Yamaha's CFX concert grand piano. VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) technology yields authentic recreations of characteristics such as damper pedal timing and soundboard, rim, and frame resonance. With 256-note polyphony, 24 voices, and an integrated 16-track song recorder, the ARIUS YDP-184 handles complex performances and layered compositions without compromises. Utilize the USB-to-host port to connect the YDP-184 to a computer or mobile device, then take advantage of convenient app-based recording, playback, control, and song analysis. Expand your repertoire by practicing along with the 50 classic songs included in the internal memory and supplied song book. The YDP-184 includes a piano bench and an AC adapter.

GH3 (Graded Hammer 3) keyboard with synthetic ebony and ivory key tops reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano, from the heavy feel in the lower register to a lighter touch in the upper octaves
CFX stereo sampling faithfully reproduces the sound of Yamaha's flagship CFX full concert grand piano
Original VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard, as well as the timing and depth of the damper pedals when pressed, from one instant to the next
Enhanced VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) calculates aliquot resonance in the upper octaves and the full resonance of the soundboard, rim, and frame

From my research this is the high end of the Arius series and very worth it if you want more voices than the next model down. The Clavinova series is the next level up but I didn't think it was the right choice for me. I opted for the more expensive shipping offered by B&H and was not disappointed in how it worked out. The keyboard action is great, the CFX sound is great and there's a lot of functionality I haven't gotten into into yet. I'm a happy customer with this purchase. Certainly a keeper for me.

After doing a lot of research between keyboards, digital pianos and acoustic, I seemed to settle on digital pianos at around this price point. I have a small living room, so I needed to be selective about what type of piano would fit nicely, look reasonably attractive and sound great. When it was all said and done, it came down to just a handful of manufacturers. Yamaha has a long heritage in the music industry and is known for quality and reliability. The full size 88 weighted GH3 keys have a beautiful sensitivity and nuanced touch. The look, feel and sound of this digital piano is very realistic. The two large 30 amp 6.3 speakers surround you with a dynamic range of sound. The build quality of the cabinet is heavy and robust. It was relatively easy to put together with just a screwdriver. The operation of the instrument comes alive at the press of one button. I like the simple interface without a multitude of buttons, sliders and screens. Although it does have some customizable features, it is primarily a high quality Yamaha CSX Grand Piano sound. Another plus in my book, is that unlike an acoustic piano, the digital piano does not require regular visits from a piano tuner nor a careful environment to keep in tune. The touch on the keys of a piano at this price level is very good, not at all like what you might find on lower priced portable keyboards. The only thing that I am slightly disappointed with is the piano bench. Although well made, there is not a lot of padding in the seat. You'll be happy and feel comfortable growing with this instrument for many years to come.
