ONA The Capri II Reviews
Great bag with gorgeous leather!
I was so fond of the black canvas Capri ii bag that I own (see the review on B&H for all the details) that I purchased the cognac leather version to use for other assignments. All of my kudos in my previous review hold true for this leather version -- same great protection, craftsmanship and design. I own four of Ona's leather bags, all in Dark Truffle color, and was leery at first that the Antique Cognac might be too orange-ish. But, it's gorgeous -- a stylish deep cognac color that I imagine will only get better with age. I'll use this bag as Im shooting to carry multiple lenses and accessories that I need while shooting away from my big bag of Canon gear. I'll also enjoy using it with my smaller Leica gear for personal travel. This bag has many uses for all kinds of photographers -- I highly recommend it. The only downsides... I still don't trust the lobster clips on the cross-body strap, so will only use the very nice, padded shoulder straps to carry for now. Also, the zipper was extremely hard to work when I received the bag -- far too stiff to have been operational on-the-go. I contacted Ona for guidance and they kindly suggested exchanging with B&H, which I didn't want to do. Instead, I tested several options that I found online and discovered that white paraffin wax (a small tea light candle) and a hairdryer magically solved the problem in about five minutes with repeated applications. The zipper is now secure but easy to open/close (even on the new and slightly stiff leather, which Im sure will break in soon.) I have used the same trick on my other bags now with equally great results.
