This is a wonderful system. You never know how much space you will have to work with from shoot to shoot. You can assemble on set what size is best.

Pretty good, just a little fragile

It is a good scrim, though it is fragile. The edges tear easily and the frame is light weight and bends easily under pressure. Also, dang, the sheets are tight. So tight that it bends the frame when trying to put it together. Overall, it is decent, if you really baby and take care of it, it will last you a long time.

The manufacture does not list the amount of light the Glide Gear Butterfly 3-in-1 Silk Scrim Diffuser Kit blocks. But most like this are 1-1.5 stops.

The Glide Gear Butterfly 3-in-1 Silk Scrim Diffuser Kit (B&H# GLBFS100) includes the square aluminum frame you see in the product photos, three fabric scrims of different sizes (4' square, 6' square, and 8' square), and two clamps for each of two sides of the frame to be attached to C-stands. You'll want to add C-stands to this product, and so we'd recommend two of this model for many people: Impact 40" C-Stand with Turtle Base and Grip Arm Kit (40", Chrome) (B&H# IMLSCTB40SK).

According to the manufacturer, this product would be modular so it can be used in 4ft, 6 ft and 8 ft configurations.

The Glide Gear Butterfly 3-in-1 Silk Scrim Diffuser Kit is not available as a 12x12' option. If you need a 12x12' grid, I would recommend either the Sunbounce Sun-Scrim Butterfly Super Saver Starter Kit (12x12'), B&H # SUSS12SSSK, or the FotodioX Pro Studio Solutions Giant Sun Scrim Collapsible Frame Diffusion Kit with Bag (12x12'), B&H # FOSSK3.63.6, for your usage needs.

The Glide Gear Butterfly 3-in-1 Silk Scrim Diffuser Kit does not have any fabric that can stop the effect of the wind. Using a sandbag or a weight should be sufficient.
