Specifically designed for the AR and MSR (Modular Sniper Rifle) platforms, the Sig Sauer 4-16x44 TANGO4 Riflescope combines outstanding optics with a partially illuminated reticle and precision turret system to produce a scope that is ideal for mid- to long-range shooting and hunting from dawn through the day and into dusk.

A suite of optical technologies are brought to bear that are designed to complement each other and enhance your view. First is the use of low-dispersion glass, which minimizes distortion and light absorption to transmit bright and clear images. Next Sig employs ultra-wide broadband, anti-reflection SpectraCoat lens coatings, along with protective LenShield and LensArmor coatings. This combination of glass and lens coatings produces views with sharp resolution and high contrast in all light conditions. The front of the objective has threads for filters—like polarizing or ND—to enhance the views, especially when operating in snowy conditions or on/near water.

The reticle, located on the first (front) focal plane, features illuminated center hairs for improved visibility with 10 selectable intensity levels from two dim settings that are night vision device (NVD) compatible all the way up to a bright setting that makes it clear and distinct in full daylight. A motion detection system, MOTAC, automatically activates the illuminated portion of the reticle when the weapon is shouldered and powers it down when it senses inactivity after 2 minutes—ensuring a long battery life and instant illumination when you need it. Exposed tactical turrets provide precise 1/4 MOA per click impact point correction with a wide 90 MOA adjustment range on the elevation turret that allows you to adjust for ballistic drop when shooting at extreme long ranges. A free Sig Ballistic Turret (SBT) elevation dial is included with the scope that allows you to have a custom dial created for your specific caliber and load to further improve your shot accuracy. You get one free with your scope purchase and you can order others for different rifles at an additional cost.

To withstand the repeated recoil of regular use and to provide the adjustment room required for the elevation turret, the one-piece maintube is made of lightweight but strong aluminum with a robust 30mm diameter. The housing is fogproof and sealed to an IPX7 rating to make it waterproof, submersible, and resistant to internal fogging.

Optical Performance

  • Broad 4-16x magnification range provides the ability to scan wide areas of the landscape on low power with the ability to zoom in and make positive identification of the target
  • 42mm objective lens gathers the light required for extended use in low and challenging light without the bulk and weight of larger objective scopes
  • Low-dispersion glass provides enhanced light transmission to produce bright and clear high-contrast views with accurate color
  • Highly efficient, ultra-wide broadband, anti-reflection SpectraCoat lens coatings reduce surface reflections across the entire visible spectrum, improving light transmission
  • Extremely durable and abrasion-resistant LensArmor lens coatings ensure the lenses avoid scratches and other abrasions that can interfere with clear views
  • LenShield coatings repel water, grease, skin oils, and lens surface contaminants that can impair view clarity
  • 24.1-foot field of view at 100 yards on 4x power, 6.3-foot on 16x

MOA DEV-L Reticle Details

  • First focal plane placement is ideal for long-range precision hunting and shooting; the reticle size changes in proportion to the magnification and maintains consistent subtensions throughout the zoom range
  • Reticle etched on glass to ensure proper optical alignment without fading over time
  • MOA-based crosshair configuration specifically designed for long-range use
  • Short non-illuminated outer posts on horizontal and lower vertical axes
  • Long illuminated center hairs with numbered hash marks to calculate BDC at multiple distances and adjust for wind without having to touch the turrets
  • Short illuminated upper vertical hair helps with downhill shooting
  • Graduated scale on lower vertical axis provides various aiming points for shooting at various distances with the ability to simultaneously compensate for wind
  • Mostly clear upper half presents an uncluttered field of view
  • 8 daylight and 2 NVD-compatible brightness settings enable easy adaption to ambient light conditions
  • Runs on one included CR2032 battery

  • Exposed finger-adjustable tactical turrets enable fast and fine adjustments in the field
  • Precise 1/4 MOA per click impact point correction
  • Wide 90 MOA elevation adjustment range is optimized for long-distance shooting
  • 40 MOA windage adjustment range
  • LockDown Zero System on turrets: A stop-locking turret that allows a rapid return to zero that also locks at zero
  • Combination illumination control and parallax adjustment turret
  • Free elevation Sig Ballistic Turret (SBT) that is matched to the user's rifle/load and allows for correct BDC at any range; one free with purchase, others are available at additional cost

Use and Handling

  • 4:1 zoom mechanism transitions smoothly through the entire magnification range
  • MOTAC motion sensor system immediately powers up illumination when it senses motion and powers down when it does not detect movement for 2 minutes in order to extend battery life
  • M46x0.75 objective filter thread allows the use of front filters, like polarizing or neutral density, to enhance the view
  • 3.3" eye relief provides a generous eye box to enhance comfort while looking through the eyepiece
  • Comfortable exit pupil at all magnifications for easy use in low or challenging light

Construction Details

  • Sturdy 30mm maintube provides the room required for greater windage and elevation adjustment range
  • Integrated throw lever on the zoom collar enables fast and accurate adjustments, even when wearing gloves
  • Aggressive texture on all adjustments ensures positive contact and movement in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves
  • Lightweight and durable aluminum housing
  • Scratch-resistant and reflection-limiting matte black anodized finish
  • Fogproof and IPX7-rated to be waterproof and submersible to 3.3 feet for up to 20 minutes
  • Length: 13.6 inches
  • Weight: 20.5 ounces
